Would you drop the engine for this?
Hello guys. I just bought a Boxster which will become my track-day tool. It needs some work to get ready for the season (which has started already). I would like to know what will be quicker for performing these jobs. Dropping the engine and box, or doing it with engine in car?
1. Check transmission and engine mounts and replace if needed with uprated items for track. 2. Change transmission oil and PS fluid.Deal with leaks that may be found. Deal with vacuum leaks. 3. Fix leak in fueal evaporative system. 4. Change IMS and install DOF kit. 5. Change chain pads for cam chains. 6. Remove AC and secondary air pump if present (I have a Euro car) 7. Install under drive pulley 8. Install a deep sump kit 9. Install motorsport AOS What would you do? It is tempting to leave the engine in the car but will I save time overall by dropping it? I have experience with engine swaps, but not on the Boxster.
