Planning to do this work soon using the dash switch option in lieu of the stalk. I am looking to find the model of the pins that are used at the end of the harness that fits to the gauge cluster connector, which appear to be of a different type than are used at the stalk connector ends.
While I can certainly buy the referenced VW cable, my preference would be to source these connectors separately and to then crimp them onto my own wires. This way I can use a wire of a long length sufficient to avoid the need to use the in-line splice connector, and I can also then use a different wire color for each run, thus avoiding the â??all yellowâ? scheme which is shown herein.
I have heard these connectors referred to as â??Molexâ? which is a brand name, but these connectors seem to come in different sizes. The most common Molex size that I have found is 0.093â?.
So, my questions:
a Are these Molex 0.093 diameter connectors the correct size for the gauge ends of the wiring harness?
b These Molex connectors come in male and female configurations. Which gender type is correct for use at the harness ends?

I am not 100% sure of the manufacturer or part number. The parts specialists will know. Give The Pelican Parts parts specialists a call at 1-888-280-7799. They can figure out what part or repair kit you need.
