Off Topic - Does anyone know the window tint limit in AB?

Hi,
On our daily driver we're getting the windows tinted and according to the sales guy it is illegal to tint the front side windows in AB.
I've seen many cars like that.. I suppose its illegal to have the limo tint (like 5%) but 20% he said it was completely legal on all rear windows.

Anyone knows if front windows can be tinted and stay legal? I'm thinking about 35% in the front

Do you know where I can find the limits if possible?

I think you can get away with 20% tint on the front, you can do whatever on the rest.

That being said, I've had 85% tint on my 1/2 ton for the last 10 years and have never been hasseled about it.

My friend had light green tint on the front of his 1 ton a few years ago and got a ticket in Edmonton with me in the truck. It comes down to the cop but I doubt you'll get hasseled in your Porsche. The cops just use this as a reason to pull over kids in the NE.

Thanks for your comments.. here's the story:
We just bought a CR-V and the dealership didn't want to do front side windows cause its illegal according to them... Since this is the wife's car I won't risk my life by exposing her to get a ticket

Not a big deal... with the rear glass tinted the small-SUV looks really nice.

Any film on the windows adjacent to the driver is illegal. Lots of people have it, though. Even some officers of the law!!!
