Anyone have access to Canadian Red Book values?
Buying a car next week and need to get a sense of what they'll TRY to get me to pay tax on.

Gold Book, what ever that is, quotes for Eastern Canada a MSRP of $59,950, a wholesale of $12,950 and a retail of $18,500 +/- mileage and accessories.
Black Book does not have anything region specific, but quotes average trade in at $8000 and average retail at $10,350. This is off the Alberta Motor Association site. Tim

Get an appraisal. They are $65 here, and the appraisors are, how should I say, maleable?

Thanks for the info.
Getting it appraised will be a pain, because I may have to register the car before I even have it here to avoid paying taxes in Quebec. They are "maleable" here too. Theres one guy who may even appraise it without seeing it, although he'd never say so on the phone.

You can get an appraisal from info (mileage, condition, history) and pictures.
