Hello, I drained the ATF on my 2010 MCS didn't replace the filter but removed the 2nd drain plug behind the transmission pan red rectangle in pic. Unfortunately, I can only refill a portion of the fluid 1+ quart that drained out almost 3 quarts total. I found a diagram showing the 2nd drain plug with a seemingly-corresponding fill plug above it behind the oil cooler. Are the front and rear portions of the transmission separated? Do I need to refill that part of the transmission separately and when would I know to stop?
With those questions unanswered, I closed the inspection plug, put in a second quart 2 total and cycled through the gears as stated in the write up. After opening the inspection plug, fluid still came pouring out. Should I just refill what came out and drive it for a while before opening the plug again? Thank you! ![]() __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: |

The fill plug is the T55 closest to the steering rack. The other is the inspection plug.
