Thanks for posting this - good tip about removing the slide bolt. I cleaned them off and wiped on some new lubricant. There must a difference in some of the Mini models as our R56 2010 required a 16mm thin wall wrench. Good thing too as I did not have a 17mm that would fit!
Biggest pain I found was attaching a new wear sensor - had to remove a lot of screws to pull out the wheel well cover!
