MINI.. not so mini anymore?
Really great article came up about the elephant in the room. You know, how big MINI's really have come from their previous predecessor the Austin Mini. Below you will see the first Mini, then the first gen BWM MINI R50/R53, the second gen BMW MINI R56 and the now third gen BMW MINI F56. It's hard to deny how much these MINI/Mini's have increased in size. What do you think about the size increase? Not just with the Cooper Hatch models, but with Countryman and Clubman models as well. Do you think they will continue to get bigger? What's your favorite generation so far? Share with us below.

I believe they will continue to get larger, and I am not glad of that. I like my R56, but I think it's about as big as I would really like in a MINI. I would love to drive an original Mini at some point, too!

I wanted to get an Original Mini when I bought my first R53 in 2003, but my life circumstances (just graduating college) meant I needed a reliable modern car, so I went with the R53 and loved that one. I drove it for 12 years and 155,000 miles until it met an untimely end at the blade of a snow plow. I just couldn't deal with how big the current MINI's are so I bought another low mileage R53.
I don't mind the bigger models, especially the clubman does seem functional, but I wish they would make them in addition to fantastic drivers cars like the R53. |
