I also own a 2009 mini pooper convertible it has 17000 miles on it brought to a dealer June 24 2017 and they said it was the sensor mat/pad under the passenger seat but they said they could not get the pad/mat sensor until late august 2017. UNBELIEVABLE !! where can I buy 1 now I want to sell it asap

There is an extended warranty on some of the seat cushion sensors. In at least some cases, they have extended the warranty on the occupancy mat to 10 years/120K miles. Ask the dealer to double-check if yours is included in that.
