Nice article, but my 2007 Mini S seems to have the thermostat housing with all the hoses right above the fasteners 13mm and 12 Torx you show pictured getting to with ease. Has the thermostat been removed on the example you used in the how-to? I can only feel those screws and can't get a socket / ratchet in there due to all the stiff hoses there and might have to consider taking the T-stat housing off, unless you can recommend an alternate way. Thanks for all the great how-to's.

No it was not removed in the article. I would loosen the hose mounts and see if you can move them aside, or use a universal socket adapter.
