I thought about Tabs today...

...on my way to work this morning.

Scout's honor, this picture was not staged. I can go back and see if these beauties are still available; I'll ship them anywhere as long as someone wants to pay the postage.

oh holy hell!

I have a set of shoes (at my other house) in the EXACT SAME COLOR.

I ran (well, walked) upstairs, only to find my closest matching pair, which was a walnut color stained burgundy (which isn't the exact match, as I am at the wrong house).

Are those cap toes? What size?

Here is a pic of my not right color match- the better color match will come tomorrow!

Check the brand and condition. Depending what they are why not

Isn't that the type of bag a hospital uses to put a persons personal effects in?

Seems like whoever was taking that to the trash saw some value in them and set them out for others to see, and have a shot at them.

Seems like there are potentially another pair of shoes in the bag, so if these are shoes from a dead person, there's only a 50% chance they were wearing them when they croaked.

The sensible thing to do at this point is, go find the shoes, stick your nose right in them, and take a big whiff.

If they smell like old man urine, then you know they were medical waste.

These were the shoes they kind of reminded me of:

I have those in black. Johnston and Murphy IIRC and they are comfortable. They were from the first step I took in them.

They look to be pre 1950 American, English Bench Made or on the outside chance Italian Balmores.

You do not want me to start.

This week a gal I know found a pair of Black possibly Cordovan Florsheim Imperial Long Wings that date (58?) from the late 50's for me (they fit)? The model code inside the shoe is unusual and seems to be from the 50's. They had a full resole with a more recent outside V cleat leather heel. They do not have the 5 nails..so it is a good resole. Or it could be a special order?

Quite awhile back I had a pair of bespoke two tone Florsheim LW golf shoes....they didn't fit (sz 8) so I sold them for a premium.

And somehow wearing old second hand shoes from the 50’s is supposed to impress people?

Tabs obviously hangs with a different crowd than the people I associate with...
