Open the More Random Picture thread and go to the first page. You will see dozens if not scores of names not here for 2 years to 10 years right off the bat.

It often hits home for me when old threads are revived from years ago...

Someday we'll all join them AWOL

Hope I've just "gone fishin'" and not swimming with them though

Honestly....there are a few "memorable characters" that jump to the forefront and are remembered for their antics when they vamoose....but PPOT has lost a bunch of less memorable ones, and when I read their old posts....I miss 'em. LOTS of them

Too the point where I really don't like reading threads revived from way back when....sorta like calling a phone #, and hearing a voice message from someone who's died...

Anyone else?

I have quite a few PMs from Dottore that I'll never delete.

PARF is the meth of PPOT. People who go there enough are never the same and at high risk for checking out of here.

The missing "characters" are emblematic of what's happen to the forum. I've been a lurker since 2004. No where near as much fun now as it once was.

Odd Job lives very close to me. Last I heard from him was less than a year ago.

These things usually happen right after my third scotch.

He's still around, still has the cars, and is still posting though.

It's been all down hill since about then . The first few years here for me were a hoot...mostly spent in the tech forum...it WAS fun. I had almost left for good by the time PARF was formed...but am still here. I think it's all on me though....none of them left (or died) until I showed up....or was it you ?

I watched from afar since I was new here. But, my.

Dottore sent me many of his harmonicas, with a note of such grace and foreshadowing it was clear. I can turn and see them as I type.

Bless them both.

you are her doppelgänger my friend.

I miss Lisa now and again. She sent me a ton of pics of an air show for some t-shirt designs. I find them now and again and go through them and remember her.

I know Dottore is presumed to have passed on but am unfamiliar with lisa_spyder's situation. What happened?

Same here....she must've left us during a hiatus I took...I didn't know. I just figured she was like the other ten cool women who just had enoough of our male bs and left to join the circus...sad though.

Lisa passed away very suddenly from breast cancer, about a month from diagnosis to her passing, in October 2011.

A little of who she was: A Perfect End to a Perfect Week - my life is wonderful!

Such a vibrant, brilliant woman.

Serial?
This forum is worth $$$$ and is a revenue generator.
No one in his right mind would shut it down unless the traffic completely dies.
Hits mean money. Even if they are meany hurt my feewings PARF hits.

PS I liked Z-man and the way he moderated. Common sense, level headed. Seemed to stay above it all.

If yer out there lurking Z, hay.
