Yeah, the traffic here drives the ad rates, which go into Pelican's coffers. I wonder how Rennlist is doing these days. Our old DC-area Porsche BBS is still supported 100% by donations, so everyone is still allowed to say whatever they want about the shops that would otherwise sponsor the board with ads.

Art Zasadny lives in Michigan. Works for Ford or GM I believe. Haven’t seen him post in years.

Goes by azasadny. Had a maroon colored 911.

^^^ Of course I remember Art...but he's just one of literally hundreds...just like him as far as being a positive contributor imo. I was trying to tie the name to someone on this thread when I asked...figured out it was him later. Next time just call him "Daisy's dad" and there will be no confusion

I couldn't even to begin to make a list however....this board has been special imo, might have lost some fine contributors and former luster, and maybe just a bit stale for some after being here a long time...but it still rocks....just not as it once did...jmo.

Before the PARF 'outlet', all that crap was here on off-topic... lots of raging egos.

Some of those people are still here.

What happened to 'Cool Chick'?

There was a gathering of a bunch in 'Vegas' at one point... even Tabs was there.
That was probably 20 or so years ago...

The Vegas gathering was around 2006. We had another much smaller one about six years ago. I've met lots of Pelicans in my travels, usually to TX and CA. BTW, where's Vinman? I had a few beers with him in NJ a few years ago. Joeaksa and OddJob live almost walking distance from me. Joe and I have talked about trying to put something together again, but it always gets shelved. I see Nostatic on other BBSs more than here now.

Hey Rick, Vinman may still be down in the Carolinas helping with the aftermath of the hurricane and the flooding.
My nephew and his team from NO LA. Are still there, probably thru the rest of this week.

This was my first, and still best online community experence. It has changed over time, but what doesn't. I still enjoy most of my time here, thanks friends!

Cheers Richard

Thanks Shaun...

Do you remember Lisa's post - something about local politics/unfair charges - and she decided to show up wear a livestock feed sack? I would have PAID to see that! Still laugh when I think about it! Now there's a memorable protest - LOL!

I do remember that one Angela. It's nice how the memories come back, feels right, comforting even.

Mostly ditto. I suppose technically, my first community was the email list for Rennlist. Then I switched to Pelican Parts and spent the first 5 or so years on the 911 Tech forum which was great. When I sold my 911, I slowly switched from the 911 Tech board to PPOT. I actually miss the tech board a little, but since I've got a Boxster, there's not that much for me to do there, and you can only see the same basic threads so many times.

I've been on a few other BBSs since then that were pretty good (usually only short term), and I've seen some that were not.

I miss Mossguy. He was always quick to PM me and get me to simmer down in my young feisty days.

He passed a few months before I was able to get up to WA to visit him.

I miss him too. He seemed to have simply gotten mad at the board one too many times and walked away. On the off chance he still checks in here from time to time I PMed him some time ago but he never responded, so I assume he's still living the good life on the Continent, although by the timeline in his posts he'd have to be well into his 70s by now. He is the one person on the board who I was mean to from time to time for which I truly regret.

Hi guys!
I was just perusing the forum and saw this thread. All is well with me and my family. I'll post a few recent pics but life has been busy as it is for all of us. I'm working at Ford in Dearborn, MI and still living in Wyandotte. Married to Beth for almost 33 years and with our daughter Rebecca finishing college and still living at home. Our son Daniel graduated college, got a job and bought a house with his girlfriend. Good to see some familiar names are still here!
