By far, the worst service is USPS. USPS will drop boxes at businesses when no one is there.

My FEDEX driver sucks. I live on a hill with a somewhat steep driveway. The UPS guy drives his big brown truck up easily. The FEDEX driver always has his dispatcher call me to tell me that I have to pick up my delivery at the local FEDEX store because the driver cannot drive up my driveway. I have asked them if they ever hire men instead of 16-year old boys to be drivers, and I have told them to contact me when he's at my driveway and I'll walk down and drive his truck up my driveway for him. They do not like my humor.

THIS!
I can't think of any issue I've had with FedEx. Some small issues with UPS, but considering the volume they bring... meh... you get a lazy/stupid delivery person once in a while.

I have had this happen with all of them. UPS left my stuff on the porch, after I specifically told them not to, and it rained. My neighbor brought it in when he got home, but everything was trashed.

I don't think you can really say anyone one is better than the other, all three are great and all three suck. I've had phenomenal service by them all and truly catastrophic service as well:
USPS: Someone physically pried the metal caps out a heavy gauge tube and stole a 3.0 crankshaft UPS: Overnighted a set of window frames to CA for Monterey, they were left on the plane, flew back to Kentucky, then back to CA. The worst part was Billing lying about it when UPS on the ground confirmed our suspiscions. UPS also drove a forklift blade directly into a box holding a barnfind perfect 356 door denting it badly UPS also dropped a wooden crate inside a heavy cardboard box hard enough that it damaged the 915 inside I could go on with UPS as I have the most experience with them FedEx did something boneheaded years ago, forget what now. My UPS driver is excellent and a main hub is less than a mile from the shop so they get most of my business. But I'm sure all three are equally bad if you ship with them enough. USPS can not be beat for price and delivery.

Work from home and get my deliveries there. Have noticed the newish ring and run thing. Have only had to sign for a couple of deliveries. Usually get to my door just in time to see the truck drive off. Thankfully my front porch is big enough and there is enough vegetation that packages are dry and out of the sight of drive by package picker uppers.
If packages start disappearing will start taking the packages in, unload the box, pooper scoop the back yard, repack the box, put it back out on the front porch, and let them thiefs have at it.
