Updated my iPhone 8 with iOS 12 😡

I usually never update my iPhones, as I always have problems.

Anyway, I finally updated my 8 after numerous requests asking to update. So I did. This time was no different. 😡

Now when I try to use the telephone app, it freezes and takes several minutes to start working. I can’t switch between recent, contacts, etc. Then it’s ok.

But later, it’s back to freezing.

It’s the only thing I can see that is not working right.

Anyone have the same problem?

Any way to go back to the previous iOS?

I've got a 6 plus. I don't think there's anyway that I'll be upgrading.

I updated my 6. No issues. Apps seem to load a little faster.

Just crushed my 6 plus. Not available with my current provider.
Was able to walk out with a new 6 + from my local Verizon.
Something is different... Must be the update

Forgot to add, Verizon had a carrier update along with the 12 install. Maybe it’s a carrier issue?

My old iPhone 6 Plus did the same thing. A new battery fixed it! It was suggested on this forum that my phones freezing and lack of touch screen could be caused by an old battery. BEWARE - back your data up - your phone will be "cleaned" in the process. At least mine was, at Staples.

You sould have gone to Apple for the battery fix. I need to schedule an appt for a battery replacement.

Apple is reducing the price of an out-of-warranty iPhone battery replacement by $50 — from $79 to $29 — for anyone with an iPhone 6 or later whose battery needs to be replaced, available worldwide through December 2018.

I have a 6S. No issues at all and I use it a lot. I do have lots of memory capacity left. It is a 128 Gig phone with over 60 gig free. I use ForeFlight for hours at a time and it just plugs right along.

I always wait a few months to update. Give them time to work the bugs out.

Just did the mail in battery replacement from Apple for $29.95........What an ordeal.....3 calls with support for 30 to 40 minutes each before we got it set up.........That's what I get for living over 100 miles from an Apple store....

I just replaced the battery at the Apple store $29 and updated the phone. Before I updated, I made sure I had a current backup and then wiped the phone clean. Now my 6+ works better than new and wiping it before the upgrade got rid of a lot of artifact memory that was taking up space. I backup to my computer and iCloud. When you restore from the computer, it takes minutes.

Nice. Maybe I'll try that route, backup, wipe, upgrade, restore. I'm surprised that that the restore doesn't also restore the issues that were causing the problems.
