Electronic restoration on youtube is a pretty active genre.

Video games and systems, early music (i.e. tape players, vinyl, etc and certainly vintage computer systems.

I watch from time to time. Always amazing how simple the machines were and usually doesn't take much to get them working again.

A buddy that lives in Sacramento Cal. said they have warehouses full of new in box computers that were bought by the state but were obsolete before they ever got distributed to intended users. Would be fun to get a look at them. I'd load linux on them and use them for something.

My MIL worked at a state lab in MD. They equipped the whole lab with computers but never gave anyone any instruction. It was the early days of computers so none of the employees even knew how to turn them on. They sat on the desks for a couple years and then went away.

I have a few C-64's (the original, gray case, not the white stylish silliness that arose when they tried to compete visually with the Atari St...) in the garage. They're still fun. I think I have an SGI550 in a box somewhere, too...

I like old computers. Maybe not Commodore 64 old but I do not mind clicking around on old laptops. Until a few months ago I was using a 2001 HP on a regular basis. Still use a 2006 Dell pretty often. If it has a mouse and a USB port I will give it a try.
I also have a thing about old mowers. I use a 1985 Snapper Comet weekly.

Cleaned out our TV studio 2 years ago, got a Vic20 working and a TRS-80 as well. Was able to find a guy online selling boot floppys for the TRS-80. Retro fun for a day!

I still have my C64, works great! I play Jumpman Junior for about 5 minutes every now and then.

I started with a Vic 20 and a tape drive. Moved up to a C-64 and twin floppies and a 300 baud modem. That led me to my real first powerhouse, a 4.77 MHz 8088 computer with 256K of RAM running DOS 2.0. It was a Compaq lugable. I upgraded it to a full 640 K of RAM, and added a giant 10MB hard drive and 2400 baud modem.

I still have my OEM Compaq DOS 2.0 books and floppies.
