I've never done it myself, but personally, I'm glad it's getting legalized: we've had enough unnecessary jail/prison sentences and asset forfeiture over it. My only beef with it is the smell - a couple of my neighbors are apparently big potheads, and just about every afternoon, it gets pretty stinky in the yard around my house.

I'm actually registered to attend MJBbizCon next week in Vegas. It's the largest marijuana business conference ever. My business partner (prior to retirement in Jan) was contacted by a large mainstream private equity client looking to acquire or recapitalize pot businesses. They want us to deal source for them. This is an easy money opportunity that could drag me back in the game for a year or two. I'm going to the convention to see if its something worth doing. Could be fun.

I split a small chunk across 3 about 10 daze ago...totally shooting blindly from the hip (I thought Aurora was in CO )...no due dilligence whatsoever....all are up 15%...I'm gonna let it ride for a long time methinks. All my other investments over the years went up in smoke however The CDB medical play on this was my motivation 10 days ago....yesterday's election results, and Sessions departure make me . Giddyup...

It's an industry in tumultuous transition. The range of legality local vs federal. The lack of quality oversight in growing. The lack of assurance of strain selection for various medicinal applications. All inhibit the well managed growth of the industry. From personal contacts it's clear that there is a marketing and distribution challenge. As the growing areas are loaded with product that producers have trouble selling. Again the varied legal realities make make moving the product away from the legal growing areas to other markets difficult. The taxes levied at all stages of production and getting the product to market are driving the retail prices right now. As the prices from the producers is quite low at this time. It seems like a Wild West, gold rush atmosphere to me. I'm not in touch with the situation in Canada , but whole country legality may solve some of the issues disrupting the industry here in the states. It's gonna be great! One thing you can count on is that it will move in a direction. Today was up! Look at TLRY and CRON. Tomorrow, probably up because of Sessions getting fired. Friday, yuuuuge dump I say.

Should drop like a rock now as it’s nationally allowed here now. And the gov’ment stuff is pretty good. You can order it through provincial websites delivered to your home. Unreal..

My initial purchase did drop 10% overnight...now up 15%. This is not an investment play for me...it's more of a wild azz gamble . Might have a free Carrera, or lose it all a year from now...who knows?

When I was water well driller shopping. One of the major drillers in Phoenix asked if I was to grow weed with the water. Said they drilled two wells already for major grow operations. I laughed and said no. But to think about it. Very large profits to made. Even high grade wholesale to street dispensers should net 1.5-2k a lb. I do like my freedom so mere speculation.

IN the area of Chino Valley north of Prescott Az there are a number of large commercial grow operations. Since Az has only legalized madicinal use at this point they are supposedly growing for that use. However they have not focused in on the better CBD strains. So are not producing the best product for madicinal uses. In anticipation of a sucsseful passage of recreational use laws a couple of years ago, a very large new grow facility was being built over recent years, when the law didn't get passed the work on the new facility came to a screeching halt. And is now operating at a fraction of the scale they had been planning for.. Just a couple of examples of the hiccups that keep the industry from reaching its potential. And can make investments in it quite iffy at this time. Cheers Richard Last edited by tevake; 11-08-2018 at 01:23 AM..

I think all those people sell it illegally outside of dispensaries. Local stoner kid talks how he gets "medical" cheaper then the dispensaries.
