Not that one. That's a toy, not a truck.

If they could get the price down to $15k, I'd think about it.

No.

Now I've been seeing a lot of -03 Kubota diesels swapped in smaller trucks that really peaks my interest.

Sure, when it can do the same things as my F150 with equal or better economics and convenience to my existing truck, then I’ll consider it. Electric motors make instant 100% torque and are great for pulling, it’s just the other pieces of the equation that have a long way to go. My truck isn’t a statement, nor is it aspirational, it’s a tool.

400 mile range? At what outside temperature? When it's -35C outside what is the draw on the heaters so you don't freeze to death while driving and how does that effect the drivable range of the vehicle?

The waves in that vid sucked. Nobody is surfing that garbage.

Like it or not, E-trucks are coming. As battery storage and brake regen improve, they will get better over time. It is unlikely I would get one that is plug-in only but a fuel cell electric could be a game changer, offering a lot of energy storage for more range and significant towing possibility.

One segment being completely ignored in the US is a light weight service/delivery PU like the old Toyota and Nissan PUs of the early 90s. This seems like a sure bet for electric application as they don't haul heavy loads and are usually purposed for short haul daily duty. If these came available for Prius $$ I think they would sell in large numbers.

Only if it came with a really long extension cord.

Do people not notice their iPhone or other rechargeable devices losing capacity over time? Most people want to keep a truck for 10-15 years without expensive battery replacement.

Which explains all the R/D on batteries. The cars, trucks and power plants are ready to go. The batteries so far, are the biggest stumbling block. But it WILL happen.

Electric cars have electrically coupled and heated seats, don't the HVAC system on most of the time Batteries are limited to 90 percent charge and 10 percent above minimum discharge to protect life/ capacity.

Most of the advancement has been temperature control and individual cell control of discharge/charge.

I'm not sure how much more development is left?

There is a physics wall here.

Something other than a battery is needed.

The majority of room for improvement has more to do with safety and longevity rather than capacity.

I have some very competitive RC's, I like the idea of electric vehicles.

There is just a lot of hype and hogwash when it comes to passenger cars.

Yeah, but who's crazy enough to live anywhere that it gets to -35*C?!? That's just plain crazy!

I'm not sure I would own a convention truck.

I do see more electric vehicles in the future - the automakers are committed to building more. An electric truck is a logical progression

That is what I have heard about Fusion power electricity plants. They are still 20 years out and we heard 20 years out back in the 80s. I really hope we can figure out fusion generation.

Hopefully batteries will surprise us all, I am skeptical but hopeful.
