My wife loved her Infinity G35x. Tons more power than she really needed. The gas mileage sucked, 16 MPG most of the time, sucking down premium.

She sold it and we bought a 2017 Macan. Better mileage and she loves it dearly. No were close to a "sports coup" however.

Get a 992. It's the two door Panamera. And it's starting to look like a Lexus.

It seems that the RCF fits the bill a bit better. Less obvious than a Porsche, but the 467hp V-8 is sweet

The Limited Edition is a bit pricey...but looks great.

It may have been a Freudian slip but I speed read the thread title and mistook the word "coupe" for "couple" at first. That would have been a whole different thread.

The 58 Edsel was described as looking like an "Oldsmobile sucking on a lemon".

Consider a mustang with the top performance pack and trim level. Seriously.

460hp, free revving v8, big brakes, great handling, real life LSD, Recaros if you want them, Doesnt look much different than the rental car version

One wag in my high school showed at school driving his dad's Edsel...he'd stuck faux fur around the center of the grille.

Yep, the performance of a hot Luxury sports coupe. Ahhh, but not nearly enough status for the purposes of this thread. This is kind of like telling a potential rolex submariner buyer to buy a wegner swiss army watch instead.

They look and sound like a high school kid's car...and are definitely not discrete. It does not seem a viable move from a European luxury or performance cars for most older folks.

See 1000 mustangs a day and never look twice unless its a gt350 perhaps, way more discrete than a m3 or alfa

True....and one hell of a bang for the buck. But here it's "ewww..Mustangs are what the common folks drive."

I've had a 2016 Mustang GT since new. It has a six-speed manual.

It is a calm daily driver that soaks up bumps like a Cadillac.......as long as I only use the first 1/4 of throttle pedal travel. It handles better than my old well-setup 944 Turbo. (Did I mention that they finally put an independent rear in it?) I also don't fear maintenance bills. Ford really put together a great car with this generation.

Couldn't have said it better myself! And does he have to get the M BMW? Those are slightly flashy, but I see 100 'regular' BMWs everyday..

Dang, I haven't seen that one but its a great looking car minus the large mouth bass grill. I can live with that grill without any problem.

I have to say this, through pics on the net or mags, its looks like Predator but out in the wild, its isn't nearly as bad

I own a 2018 M2 (N55, not S55). It is fantastic in all regards, and though the Competition brings "more", it also brings more weight with that more power. I am not sure that makes much of a difference to the overall experience, mind you. An M240 may be an interesting consideration, as it is even more discreet than the M2, and you aren't really giving up too much performance wise.

The M2 fit my needs for fun, track worthy, and reasonably versatile. It sounds glorious, but it isn't really discreet.

The M2 is much more E46 sized than the M4. It is fantastic, but it will always be the economy version of a premium car . . .

I have to laugh each time I open OT and read this title. I don't know why but I see "semi discreet fun couple" and immediately think "darn swingers"
