public speaking update.

this monday. we got the opportunity to do the final "dry-run" before we all take the show on the road.

(anything fun to do in Fontana CA?)

our audience was a room full of Designers. a crazy amount of cute women civil engineers. total unicorns in my world. one was totally inappropriately dressed but i was not complaining.

i chit you not. when the big boss showed up, i checked my HR with a phone app. my heart was racing!! 109! WTF?.. i went outside took a quick walk and did some deep breathing. i calmed down. ate a banana.

i was up!! i never knew it, but i kinda drop jokes and treat them not as jokes. i just kinda say it, and move on straight faced. people were laughing, and taking pictures of my slides. i eased up and kicked ass. the big boss shook my hand and told me, "good job! you are ready"

it is what it is at this point. i have the info memorized..i know the anticipated questions. and answers.

thanks for the pep talks along the way friends. i'll see some of you around hopefully.

LA..and San Diego. (i'm looking at you lowryder933!)

This is just 5 minutes long, and classic Jerry Clower. Maybe your speech can get this good and you can get a chauffeur.

It is one of my favorite bits of Jerry's humor.

IIRC the most popular form of recreation/entertainment in Fon-tucky is domestic violence.
Vandalism runs a close second

Take a ride into the mountains if you have the time. Lake Arrowhead or Big Bear has some nice roads if you have 3-4 hours. Go to Mt Baldy if you only have 1-2 hours.

We shot the ending of Terminator 2 at the old steel plant in Fontana-see years ago but it was dismantled and shipped to China shortly after.

There is a Bass Pro Shops in Rancho Cucamonga, otherwise I got nothin'.

What's the subject of the talk? I'm a geotechnical engineer and, like you, worked on the Devil's Slide Tunnel. So I'm interested.

So you're saying that picturing your audience naked wasn't a difficult thing to do? Hope you had a podium for "cover"

Yeah, I am not sure if there's anything to do in Fontucky. Hell go spend money at the Bass Pro Shop up the freeway.

I am shock that they didn't hire any of those pretty civil engineers up at your office. How long are you in town, car?
