LV is an oven in the summer..The Strip is a RIP..went down there to see Cher..and it was fking wall to wall people with the music blaring..fk that.

There are lots of places that are a better value and are more low key...like the M resort...where the buffet is the best..

Or the Red Rock..

For LA area..stay the fk away from the metro area where the people are like ants...go South to OC and Diego Or better yet North to Santa Barbara..aka as the American Rivera..

Then to the scene of the infamous Black Audi incident .. Cambria to see the Hearst Castle.

I like low key and relaxed..off the beaten path where the tourists dont know and don't go..

So, growing up 4 blocks from Route 66 in Albuquerque, I know that 66 does not run through Santa Fe, which is about 60 miles north of Route 66.

Where did you get the license plates, please?

That sounds like an incredible adventure!

Las Vegas? - didnt enjoy it much, too hot, too busy, too expensive and amazed that you can still smoke in the Casinos!

Took a trip up Mulholland drive, had good clear weather so the view was great. Even got to see Steve McQueens mailbox. Spotted a few cool cars out for a drive inc an early 911.

Redondo beach was great, cool lady at South Bay Porsche gave me a free (something free! from Porsche! ) license plate surround - great souvenir.

San Clemente was perfect - we needed to relax after 10 days on the road and it certainly did that. Linda beach was cool, Pedros tacos were tasty, met a guy called Bob Lee (not sure if he is a Pelicaner?) who has a few nice cars. Went to cars and coffee and met a few other cool car guys. Whole area has a great chilled out vibe. Saw the local low rider club cruising up and down San Clemente main street ( The Superiors?)

Loved In`n`Our burgers!

Brought back loads of license plates for my collection

So thanks again everyone and hope to be Stateside again as soon as possible.
Sounds like you guys had a great time. This is a large place and we can drive for days and the view is never the same. Glad you were able to enjoy San Clemente and the rest of socal. Its our typical slower pace beach town the way they all used to be.

This Bob guy had long hair? Red 911 that you can eat off the brake calipers? Sounds like Surfer Bob?

Route 66 originaly ran through Santa Fe from 1926 to 1937 when it was redirected - https://www.route66guide.com/new-mexico-route66.html

I picked up my license plates from junk dealers, pawn shops and "route 66" stores along the way.

The Bob i met was driving a late 60s VW bus at the time (although he did admit to owning many Porsches as well) - no long hair, but the bus was sweet! He is a regualr at Jack Staggs place.
