I agree. It's inevitable now. Deadline is tomorrow (Monday). Not much more can be said after that.

racea911, I found your posts about Al Gore and Bill Clinton very interesting. I feel the road to war is a little quick, but if you consider the conflict has been ongoing for a decade, and only now reaching a heated level, perhaps things are just taking a just and inevitable course.
It is very easy to criticize Bush, but I bet you will find very few who'd be willing to sit in his place. I am willing to trust our leaders, right or wrong. I think a majority of the populace should do the same, because the average citizen lacks the knowledge and "giveadamn" attitude to make a good decision. One news channel had excerpts of interviews with war protesters. One dumbass protestor didn't even know the leader of Iraq? The scary part is there are more like him. Saddamn better watch his six... Great posts, racea911
I just saw Clinton on 60min's. You would think he would have never said those words you posted; as he took a "no-war" stance, against Dole. It was great; in classic Clintonian speak Bill infered that attacking Iraq is a bad idea, without ever saying it is a bad idea. That guy is a master of words. He's slipperier than a slimey used car salesman with a 100% commission.

Some excellent posts. Just a couple of thoughts:
The President is following a course of action that obviously has a lot of people in disagreement with him. My opinion is he's following his convictions without regard to his political future. Quite the opposite of the character evident in our last president. I respect that. So much talk of how this would be a short war, Iraq's army is 1/5 the strength it was in '91, etc etc. Guys, OUR army is 1/2 of what it was in '91, as well. We had 18 divisions on active duty in '91. We have half of that now, and one will not be leaving the Korean peninsula any time soon. I'm not giving any secrets away here. Why do you think North Korea is picking this time to be so belligerent? It's no coincidence. Anyway, my point is it would be a very big mistake to assume this will be another 100 hour war. I had a conversation with an Indian this week. I had to ask if everyone really hated us. His response was this: "America and Australia are the only two countries in the world where you can walk into a bar, sit next to a total stranger, and within two rounds of drinks exchange your life's stories. I love America." That was so nice to hear. Just thought you might like to hear it too.

Some great reading:

Either way, war or no war, that I don't care. Currently the only thing that will bother me is the damn price of gasoline.
Call me heartless its the only thing I mind. Guess I can't drive a car with price of 2$ a litre. The price is now 1.2 euros (1.3$) per litre and it will go up after the war starts.

IF the US didn't stop (and push back) Saddam in 1991, could you imagine what the price would be today?
The guy was going for full control over the whole region.
