Internet video, HULU Vs Sling Vs????

Got high speed internet installed and a Roku, Have Netflix and Amazon.
Long story short I miss live Sunday afternoon NFL football.
I know we have NFL haters but for me it is an excuse to put my brain on hold have a beer or three.

Some motorsports and NBA would be nice too.

HULU and Sling seem to be the most popular, how do they compare and any other services I should be looking at?

All things being equal I am a cheap bastage and the least expensive way to get HD sports would be great.

Thanks in advance.

I have both.

Keep cancelling HULU.

They toss out a good deal, I sign up again, never use it, cancel.

SLING has it's issues.

The two big ones are the interface is dependent on which device you use, Apple TV, ROKU, Smart TV with it installed as an app.

Not that big a deal anymore as they all now have grid guide, was not always the case.

SLING also has a delay when time blocks are up.

On the 1/2 or hour there will be a 1-2 second gap as it loads up the next show.

Also does it on commercials.

Again, minor annoyance but sometimes when watching something like House Hunters you'll miss the last commentary.

I have prime, netflix and sling with the 'blue' add-on.

I suggest you try sling with "blue" or whichever one the sports one is. there's quite a bit on there. You can also buy an "airtv" box which you plug into your router and plug an antenna into it,

It puts all your over-the-air channels into the sling app right along with the other stuff.

I think Sling is pretty great for the money,

You can change your plan at your whim . . like even day-to day, with no penalty. If you leave town for a month, shut it down and save $30.

but I do notice that it buffers occasionally where my netflix never buffers.

Look into DirectTVNow. A little cheaper than Sling and I believe the setup of the app is morn inline what you may have benn used to with cable or satellite.

I'd look into U-Tube TV, not to be confused w/ regular U tube

It works very well

Had terrible service with DirectTVNow. Switched to PSVue and life's been great despite fewer channels.

We have multiple Roku devices and had Sling for over a year . We switched to Hulu Live and cancelled Sling . In my opinion Hulu has superior programming over Sling . And plenty of sports coverage on Hulu .

Wasn’t happy the first year but they updated the app a couple months ago and it’s working better now.

The great thing about these is that you can try em all. You can try sling for a few days if you want and cancel it.

I should add that we only watch on the big screen at home so don't need steaming on our phones or computer.

And (hard to believe) we don't have over the air TV (I wish).

Is there much of a price difference between HULU and Sling or is everything $40/mo?

Also, imperative I get live NFL and NBA, college football would be nice too but without having to add extra channels and extra $$$

The two basic sling packages are $25 and then there are $5 "add-ons", one of them being all sports.

to get everything we wanted sling was $50. Same for directvnow ($50). We tried sling for 2 months and directtvnow for 2 months. Settled on directv. A few more channels than sling and have had fewer issues. VERY happy we got rid of cable.

Fox sports is on “Pluto TV”, which is a free thing. So there’s that anyway

Between DTV NOW (and the free HBO GO), Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube, I typically have more programming available that I care to watch, than I have the time to watch it. YMMV.

Also, for local channels and/or sports (in HD), you might look into a good OTA antenna.

I have been a DirectvNow subscriber for over a year now. Most of the glitches seem to have been worked out. My biggest issue is, I live in a small market so I don't get locals. I have to use a HD antenna to get locals and for watching NFL games. It's weird, I can get some games on DTVNow while others they can't stream in my market.
I'm an AT&T Subscriber but I got HBO before I switched from Verizon for being one of the early people to sign on.

Quite a bit on pluto for free, thanks. Frankly works better than our comcast.

I've been casting for several years. Have a vizio E series display, which they upgraded, for free, to a smart tv sometime ago, free pluto. I use my tablet or phone to command what I watch. Also have an antennae for locals.

I pay for internet and amazon prime. She and friends hook us up with Netflix and Hulu.

I don't miss ESPN one bit. Free stuff on the big screen, right there in the palm of your, oh wait...

I will check direct TV now... have looked at Pluto but I am overwhelmed with all the choices so didn't see the free sports there.

I can get sling for $25 and add a sports package for $5-$10 but they want a zip code so not sure if they will block local teams
