Some folks still won't believe it, because they don't want to.

Good news.
Somewhat off topic but do you all think autism rates are increasing? My kid is on the spectrum. I know many that are. Didn't see many when I was growing up. |

You likely saw plenty, you just did not recognize it for what it was.

I would imagine that the increase in awareness and better diagnosis plays a part in that perception. As do social networking, media/news saturation, and the interwebs in general I'm sure. There seems to be a lot of stuff that is more prevalent today than when I was growing up... |

And then you get scholars like this one. From my state, embarrassing.https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/arizona-lawmaker-calls-mandatory-measles-vaccine-communist-amid-fight-control-n978121
I did not realize good citizenship, which is looking out for your neighbors, was communist.

I agree about not recognizing things. Feedback is powerful.

I believe this as well, with what I know now I think a good buddy of mine in high school was on the spectrum. Lots of people on the spectrum are very "high functioning" but only come across as socially awkward.

"Spectrum" is the new ADHD.
Any socially awkward smart kid has it now... Not saying their aren't legit diagnosis, but its now a catch-all.
