Thank you sir!!! Coming from one of the hardest working guys I know, that means a lot.[emoji4] I will do my best to find the info on the ladder. I installed it years ago after a near death experience at the top. [emoji51] They are a true game changer. They really lock into place once set. The only thing is, to adjust them to properly, you have to unload the ladder(lift up to take the weight off the adjustable legs, and then slowly set the ladder back down to the uneven surface. That way each leg can set accordingly. There is a shaft that connects each side to each other so they work together while setting to the uneven surface. The shaft goes through the lowest rung so you don’t even see it. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My gawd man! That is amazing fabric and paint work my friend!!!! No wheres close to your level, but I stripped, prepped and painted a buddies cowlings for his LongEZ. Did it to help him out and to learn something new regarding composite aircraft. He was pleased so that is all that matters in my book.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6400c1ca7a.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...75133a70a2.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...67ffb64137.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b0a731d61c.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...73ef47a469.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...fd92a3f6c2.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ba60fea220.jpg Just tryin to learn a point or two so that whenever I am able to get around to working on our cars, I can do as much as possible. On a side note, I did find a good example of the paint scheme I would want to shoot on FastMover-1…..[emoji6]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4589a52d36.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...304a14c375.jpg |

A friend of mine has an airport apartment he rents out on the cheap. Isn't it common practice to use landscaping fabric under the rock and up against the retainer? |

Very true, still working on getting it up to scratch and airworthy again. Nothing major, just a bunch of little things. Waiting for an adapter for the new Allen fuel valve so it will mate up with the torque tube. It’s a day VFR flyer and I’m installing lights. Which means drilling a small hole/tube through a non-structural section of the wing. That requires experience in my book, so I’m planing on getting assistance from an ex-Scale Composites guy with that task. On the wall, yes, fabric can be used and I have it in the build. Where I mussed up was when I initially built the wall, the gravel topped at two block runs below the top tier. When we were flooded and the water, mud and debris came rolling down the hill, it filled in the gap from the gravel and the top of the blocks. The fabric helped by preventing the muddy water from plugging up the whole draining e design. I placed mesh at the base and another run a few inches below grade in the gravel. Now I am attempting to dig down to the top layer before back filling. Geo-grid or geo-mesh is another item that can be used to stabilize the hillside depending on the height and nature of the wall. Today for the first time put the 3500lb truck camper in the dually, rig handled well.
Even though it's a 1 ton had to add upper and lower rear spring helpers, new shocks, big rear sway bar and camper anchors. Track camping and racing at Laguna Seca soon. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1687657430.jpg |
After getting stuck in the mud the other day, when I got home, I rinsed the truck off and noticed the right front rotor steamed when water hit it. Hmmmm...that's not normal.
I replaced all the pads on the truck the weekend before, so either mud got stuck in there somehow, the caliper piston was sticking or the flexible brake line was clogged. I lifted truck up and on the right front wheel, I could feel resistance. So I took it apart and replaced the caliper and brake line. The new brake pad on the outside was worn halfway down in one week. Grrrr. I bled the right front caliper, but after a test drive tomorrow, I'll need to bleed the rest of them. |

Not sure I really need these as most of the work I use the ladder for the feet end up on the ground which is usually not very tilted. More than anything I wanted to get a better grasp on how they were designed. Your rock work is really coming along! You have much to be proud of. Your choice of materials and overall design is really well thought out. Be well and please stay safe, my brother! SmileWavy |

I took it for testing today and still had the issue. Got out of the truck and check the brake hard line and its good. So, a Google search said that one pair of brake pads has a semi circle on it that was to go on the piston side of the caliper or there will be problems. I pulled the wheel, pulled the caliper and I had brake pads with semi circles on the inside and the outside. DOH! I installed new brake pads on the front left and right and bled the brakes. Hopefully, when I drive it tomorrow, it's all fixed. Edit. Hopefully, the rotor is ok and I didn't damage it with all the heat... |
Ted-
The tongue weight shown above looks a little heavy to my eyes. Probably wrong. Double check to be safe. (and nice setup btw) |
