The old one finally puked after 160,000 miles.
The temp at the vents is now 45' at 80' ambient. Not icy cold, but gutt-enuff.

Replaced the arc fault breaker with a standard breaker for the owners bedroom / bathroom. The reason being, my 11A window air conditioner is tripping the 15A breaker. Not a huge problem, but it’s not fun at night with my CPAP on.

I’m going to install GFI(s) in the bathroom.

I'd recommend 12g/20amp outlet wiring for-
-kitchens: blenders and mixers
-bathrooms: hair driers
-bedrooms: space heaters, guitar amps, that heated waterbed wave machine, etc

Fridges, microwaves, furnace, etc should be on their own separate circuit.

Your 912 gearbox looks so nice! Great investment getting that rebuilt now while everything is out.

My 911 gearbox is also out and while it won't get the same nice treatment as yours I know it will at least be cleaned up and checked.

I ran over to Mom's first thing this morning and got caught up on pruning her 3 Queen Palms and some weeding. Pickup day is Wednesday. I will return a week from today and prune the Cabbage Palm you see to the right. I do it every year. Takes about 1/2 hour. Felt good to get caught up on some stuff over there.

Thank you about the 912’s box. Had the 78 SC’s trans overhauled last year. Now I am seriously car poor. Now I need to start reassembly of the SC and I’m thinking of re-installing the box n engine in the 912 and driving, as is. Not like I’ve got spare time either way….[emoji849]

Lots o work needing to be done.

Dismounted the front wheels on the tractor. Tires were 18 years old and the sidewalls cracked. Replacements are a few days away so the rims got a bit of paint while I wait. Glad we weren't haying when the sidewall blew.

New 10 engine is scheduled for the Westec engine dyno Monday.
Hopefully 650hp or a little less.
Loaded the 10 early to beat the summer heat, headed to Bryans racing enterprises tomorrow.

Does Steve Brule tune your motors? (I only know of him from the pages of Hot Rod Magazine, but he seems to be well-regarded)

Met Steve several years ago the last time Westec tuned an engine for us.
Sat in the Dyno room with Steve and the owner of Westec, super nice guys.
Made me feel as comfortable as you can feel while your engine is making dyno pulls.
Steve is the dyno guy on the Engine Masters show on MotorTrend TV.

Too bad that day the engine only made 550hp.
The heads were terrible on that engine, but it lasted many years.
Funny that engine builder was Bostick racing engines the same guy that recently built the Hemi engine now in David Freiburger's Hemi Gremmie.

That old engine is toast now so we started over with an old Dart block and Brodix 10 heads with all new everything else.
Hopefully the new engine built by Bryans racing enterprises will be closer to 650hp or a little less.
Might have a video of the run, we'll see. ;)

I use aerothane by consolidated almost exclusively.. unless I have to do a repair that was shot with dope or ranthane. I even use aerothane on spam cans as it's chemistry was redesigned in the early 2000's with flexibility as the main requirement. It's very high gloss and repairable. Many urethanes used in the auto industry just have flex agents added at the paint store in order to handle the modern bumper covers.
It would be an ideal coating for your fiberglass and foam flexi-flyer.

While on the elliptical at the gym today, my Fitbit decided to puke and display its guts...

Crazy glue...

The toothpicks hold the bezel up so I can apply a drop of crazy glue gel at each corner..

And yes I did glue my thumb and forefinger to the Fitbit or vice-versa.. I did manage to get my fingers released before the glue reached full cure..



Now maybe I can get a few more years out of this one..

Spent my pre-shift time doing a final level, bottom run contour around non-movable rocks and hard pan. Then wrapped the form in some left over Tyvek to provide a little smoother face and help bridge the small gaps at the bottom of the form. I still need to finish the end cap by contouring the wood to closely follow the angle of the culvert. Height of the form is right at 26”.

This is the bed of the culvert. Hard as concrete and need a jack hammer to “chip” pieces away. Actually swept and vacuumed the area to remove the fines.

Another quick project since we are headed into the summer heat and live in a third world state called kalifornication and soon to be rolling black-outs. Called PSP…..

Time to change the oil in the Honda generators. For those of you who have the small Honda 2000 watt gens, know how messy it is to change the oil since you just tip them and let them pour out. Oil inevitably gets everywhere, including the small four pads the generator sits on when it’s upright.

I found these machines aluminum gizmos that make it fast and easy on Amazon. Literally can change the oil in minutes will little to mess. The kit even includes a fuel cap you can attach a fuel line from a larger fuel can to give you more than .9 gal of fuel. I even found out the adapter also works in the Honda lawn mower for its oils changes as well. The included aluminum oil cap has a small magnet at the end to pick up any chaos that might develop too.
