Ok ... now that's cool, good thinking and execution. Like you I'm sick of construction, it tears me to shreads.

Thanks I guess i should just be thankfull im still flexible enough to get things like that done. Hanging upside down and working with my left hand and all. I had to take my shirt off because it was in the way and hot today! I have boxes and boxes of plumbing stuff but still had to run to the store and cost me 50 bucks. I dont know how people can build a new house it would cost a million bucks to build a 300k house

Still waiting on the angle iron to finish my vice modification.

In the meantime, I’ve been working on my Trailex Trailer, to get it ready to go to VIR next month. I was going to install new leaf spring shackles and noticed the equalizer bushings were worn out. They should be here tomorrow. In the meantime, I installed new wheel bearings and seals.

The next two projects on the trailer, will be new leaf springs, Sanding the rust off the axles, paint them and then rewire the trailer.

Redoing my old firewood rack: new piers, paint, tore out the old flooring, and new roof when it's finished. I'm glad I have my tractor to pick it up & move the thing around.

Rewired the trailer today and went well, until it didn’t, after turning the lights on, etc. The original wiring, was a rats nest of connections and wires. The trailer part I did was good, but the new seven pin pigtail I bought didn’t match up to the truck. I ended up having to use a test light and a MM to see which wires did what. Everything works, but the electric brakes. I’ll work on that tomorrow…

Oh Man! I feel your pain.
I had to figure out the F'ed up wiring on a horse trailer we bought. After a few frustrating (and educational) hours with a test light and a diagram, I finally got it to standard.
Then I had to have the frame and axles replaced. Did I ever get taken for a ride on that POS.
Oh yes. Then the darned horse grew too big for the trailer.
At least now I can laugh about it.
Best
Les

Fixing my favorite watch, unfortunately fell off a boat. Thought it was OK, but a day later, dreaded condensation under the crystal.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1725237921.jpg

The driver's door window switch in the RX300 was working intermittently, I could tell something had given up as the button wasn't as stiff as the others in the bank of master controls, and recently the power door lock would unlock but not lock. Today, I took the switches all apart and found a tiny plastic part that was broken. The part rides on a spring under the rocker type button, well, it was broken. I removed the part from the rear passenger side switch, put a little grease on the pivot parts, did the same for the power lock button, put it all back together and it is all working properly once again.
I just put new tires on this old RX today, so I am keeping it around a while, trying to keep ahead of the issues.

Ordered new springs for the trailer. Hopefully, I can get them swapped out before the next track event in two weeks. It’s calling for heavy rain for the next week.

Had to reposition the drain. The soaker tub I'm using has an osb base bonded on to it... not ok on my concrete floor or in thinset bedding, anyway I used some water proofing to get around the issue. I muffled the slip nut collar height... I'm off by 1/4".. So I'll be needing to un frag that this evening, joy, I get to buy a new tool.

Goof

rsrguy 09-06-2024 05:07 AM

Shots of the water proofing. I routed in some negative space on the deck bottom in order to key the base into the bedding. Next job is to check the floor for level.... I'm guessing it won't be.

At work I'm repairing ringworm on a skybolt with a ceconite/dope cover job. I managed to get silver on it but I don't have a picture of that.

Bathroom remods are the devil's own home improvement project. Especially when they haven't been upgraded since the Nixon administration. I've been there.

Thank goodness there's some eye bleach in the form of high performance airplane restoration.

rsrguy 09-06-2024 07:38 AM

Eye bleech... lol. I'm exhausted when I fall into bed every night. I still need to build fixtures to cut up the solid surface cut offs I have into subway style tile.

Delonghi BrewMaster from MarketPlace. What a plastic piece of junk.

I found a failed thermal fuse deeeeep inside the machine. Now it makes very good fresh ground coffee. A very satisfying cheap purchase and repair.
