Now I’m on the hunt for a vintage Wilton POW-R-Arm. I’ve got a couple of smaller clamp on ball swivel mount arms but, they’re more for electronics, hobby stuff rather than heavier manufacturing.

Lots of mundane stuff happening lately... small jobs with no end in sight, but.....
The bride of Frankenstein has always wanted a boat, we've been married 35 years and she bought me my first Porsche in 98.... we still dont have a boat. I have a partnership stake in a vintage French aircraft.... we still do t have a boat. Any way, she hasn't ever once nagged me about it, not once. I see them as an expensive nuisance that I have to tow launch, recover, wipe down, store and service. Add to this that cash is tight and a boat loan isn't a option. So I managed to aquire 2 free water holes, one with a strong 302 and volvo penta OD.
Anyway during service revealed rotted stringers.... almost a given on any sub 10k boat. What you see in the pics is a 3/4" ply stringer glassed only on the inner face and a soaked flotation cell... (seriously one... (1) 3/4" ply stringer with no glass on the outside facing the flotation)
Tore it out, cleaned it up, soaked the new stringers in epoxy and bonded them in. filleted the joints and layed up 1708 biax.... tabbed in propper with German mgs epoxy... it'll cure up tonight and ill flow coat it with gray epoxy before reinstalling the flotation and new sleeved weep holes to the motor bilge.... Clearly Isaac and I have a problem.

Rather than buy yet another one (which could be up to $4!) I thought I'd just put the top on another jar. I couldn't find anything that would fit - but we do have tons of canning jars which are just about the right size. I could adapt the cute flipper-sugarhole-lid thingy to a lid and use it on any random jar that I find laying around, which of course Isaac and I will probably destroy again.

I also have a bunch of PE screw-top lids for the jars that are great for storing acidic things like pickles in the fridge. This single-piece design eliminates the seam between the lid and the ring on a typical canning jar that would catch sugar and be messy.

With just a little surgery my frankensugar shaker lives!

Got some stuff re-organized today including moving some tools back where they belong.

With a few exceptions.....I use the Ryobi brand for most of my cordless tools.

For my angle grinder, I bought a diamond cutting disc from Walmart after wearing out so many of the standard versions. The other tool is a sawzall you can operate with one hand. It's called a hackzall!

BTW....if you've ever been frustrated trying to use the Sharpie markers......try the ones at Walmart made by Hart. They can be found in the automotive/hardware section where the tools are. I really like them better than the Sharpie brand.

I bought this Zebco 33 Classic rod and reel as a combo back in 1993. I put the reel on a white and red Southbend rod shortly after purchasing it and put an older Zebco reel on the original rod and it sat in the basement at the cabin since 1993 and wasn't used much. A couple of weekends ago I went to grab my rod and reel and the rod, which was a pistol grip style, had broken into two pieces where the reel mounts to the rod so I put the 33 back onto its original rod so that my son could fish with it that day and I later fished with it and caught a nice Bluegill. While using it, I noticed that the line was releasing before I took my finger off the cast button, but other than that it was working fine. A few days ago I decided to open it up and see what the issue was and found the line brake rubber/nylon ring had crumbled apart and so I will replace it with a rubber grommet. While I had it apart I did some maintenance on the internals and now have this classic reel humming along very smoothly. To go with the above posting. I also cleaned my vintage 1980s Old Pal Woodstream 1080 tackle box which I have had since 1982 or 1983. A few of the compartments had some stains so I used baking soda and Dawn dish soap, a fingernail brush, and a toothbrush. In this hot weather my little compact tractor (30 hp) gets close to red zone on the temperature guage after about a half hour of hard running. I had been starting to think about a new radiator or at least a flush, then got thinking about a good clean of the fins. One problem with that is the battery is mounted a few inches in front of the radiator. I couldn't get a good shot of air through the fins with the nozzle I had. I looked up air wands yesterday and found a big box store 30 miles away had them, so figured I'd pick one up next time I was up that way.
Last night I got thinking about some air line fittings I took out of the old dairy building when it was being sold off 30 yearsago. This morning, with some fittings, an unused air nozzle and a length of 1/4 inch copper pipe, I made a wand.

And tried it out. I was amazed at the quantity of crap that was blasted out of the radiator! When things dry off again, I will see if I made any difference.

Follow up. Yesterday, I mowed down the 2 - 3 foot high growth in a field next to the creek. The temp guage barely got into the green for most of the hour. It did climb up to the mid point by the end, but when I checked the screen in front of the radiator, it was about 1/4 covered with grass seed. So I guess cleaning the fins worked.

I was tasked with a "simple task" of putting new bulbs in the dual garage door, opener. The single garage door is easy peasy to change bulbs.

The lifter motor is up too high to use the step stool, so I had to get the Macan out of the way, and park the El Camino pretty close to my 911 and stand in the bed to access the top screws of the bulb cover.

The bottom screws had a combo type of hex head or flat screw tip type of screw. So I dug out the hex driver. The top screws were Phillips screws. WTF?

No doubt the old bulbs have been in there a while, and both were burned out and both were old incandescent bulbs. In went new LED bulbs, and finagle the cover back on. Without a handy El Camino I would have had to get into the storage building and get the ladder.

I remembered it was a silly easy job, but the moving the cars around and the different heads on the screws made it more complex than necessary.

Now that side of the garage lights up when the door is opened. The wife is happy again.

I have on my 'to-do' list a cleaning of my outside AC condenser unit's fins. I try to do this in the off-season but last year's off-season was too full of detours.....

In my area, we have awful cottonwood trees that just seem to make it snow all summer long with their fluffy white seeds. I’ve been keeping my AC unit clean, but noticed the neighbors unit basically had a sweatshirt of seeds built up. There is a language barrier, so I had them follow me over to the side of their house where I showed them the AC. they knew to clean it off since I was able to tell their English speaking kids a few years ago about it.

The railing on our rear deck has faded over the years. I got out my car polisher and went at it. I was amazed at the results

I hope rsguy is doing ok. Haven't seen any updates here in a while.

Im buried in the pa-12 build, the boat was a brief respite. The pa-12 is all little bits and pieces at this point, nothing huge to document. Im installing a new boot cowl and its time consuming, the engine has been on and off 3 times now, the plan is to have it on for the last time this week or early next.
It'll require about 30 nut plates and a window fitment... a daunting all consuming task!
