Dammit, I have the guts to a drivers door , I was hoping to send them off to you . I just looked after seeing your post , and they are indeed drivers side .

The MIL's house is a turn-of-the-last-century farmhouse. 50 years ago the FIL jacked up some of the sagging floors and levelled others, but there's hardly a straight line in the place. Today's project was making the parlour door latch again. Over the years the wood backing up the striker plate had been hacked, re-enforced and torn up again. My only recourse was to chisel out the busted up portion and glue in a new piece of wood. As I was taking out material to get a gluing surface, I came across two finish nails. Didn't expect those. Didn't have a claw hammer. I took my drill, caught the head of one of the nails in the chuck and spun it. It came right out. It reminded me of the old joke, "Hey! Toss me a wrench?" "What size?"
"Doesn't matter. I'm gonna use it as a hammer."

Tree work in the yard. had a pine pulled out and leaning over the shed got it pulled the other way and taken down with the jeep. Feeling confident i attempted the dead ash hanging over the garage. Got stuck twice but got it down. Fail. a 2" round branch must have come off the very top and poked two holes in the roof. So thats what i will be fixiting tomorrow

Replaced the starter relay, charged the battery and it fired up on the 2nd roll over, then ticked over perfectly

Not bad considering I'd parked it up with a half tank of gas 3.5yrs ago

Gave the bodywork a polish and interior a wipe over to take of a light covering mildew

My 87 blazer was like that. Intresting ride when you go over a bump and the steering wheel moves seperate from the seat. For a while it was running bad. One day i couldnt make it up my hill to get home. Figured out the fuel line was run over the tranny and the body sinking squashed it flat. But left it in there because the body was the only thing holding the engine down since those mounts were gone too.

A 1/4 carriage bolt is a perfectly acceptable substitute for a snow blower shear pin, when it's 7:00pm and the wife needs to get out of the driveway and go to work in the morning.

Fight me.

Happy to report the replacement latch assembly arrived today and less than an hour later repairs were completed and everything works as it should!

My tips:

1. Get a swivel chair to sit on while doing this
2. Keep the old latch handy to reference where the rods go back in
3. Attach the two wiring harness plugs first
4. Then attach the short rod in back with the ell at the end
5. Make sure the other shorter rod with the threads is floating freely where you can get to it
6. Go ahead and bolt the latch in with the three T25 bolts
7. Attach the short rod with the threads
8. Attach both longer rods in front - one that operates the lock first (it goes on the bottom) and the one that releases the latch next (it goes on the top)

And Bob's your uncle!

Removed the 2.93 differential in my E46 and prepped the 3.46 to go in.

Rebuilt the driveshaft with a new Guibo and center support bearing.

Tomorrow, I’ll replace the differential bushings with urethane and install the 3.46 diff, followed by the driveshaft. Looking forward to see how it drives.

Edit: removing the old bushings is always a *****.

Installed the 3.46 differential, bushings and rebuilt drive shaft.

Tomorrow, I’ll torque everything down and take it for spin.

Hopefully there’s a big change in acceleration….🙌🏽

Best friend's RV started throwing belts. Pulleys out of line due to bad harmonic balancer. Fired it up today after two months fixing everything else..

Turned into total "while you're in there job"

Just getting the front off required drilling through 43 heavy duty rivets, cutting through tack welds, pulling out framing nails...

Chevy 454.. The harmonic balancer was ruined by bad front crank seal leaking oil. Previous owner thought it was the oil pan seal. This is after scraping off a 1/2" of RTV off the lower lip.

All the pulleys were rusted and rough. wire wheel and paint.. Rebuilt balancer hub was stripped out internally. found this out AFTER installing it. Drilled and retapped for larger bolts.

Yikes $19 a quart w/o mc, I'm almost finished, I'll pass. I can still get MC stripper, it's $350 gallon but I have to wait 8-10 weeks... And it's special order to qualified business (which I qualify for) not for GP.

Stupid world we live in, chemicals intended to be burned and injested into the lungs that are absolutely known to cause diseases and death are legal, and available OTC to the public, but MC stripper safe to use, re use and dispose of safety with ppe is not. Damned mental midgets..! :mad:

Nice work, NC! That's how to do it on an RV. Good investment for lower percentage of future breakdowns while on the road!

A year or two before the Toyota 4 runner came out, either Toyota or somebody modified a pick up truck into a 4 runner. It was called a Pre-Runner.

It belonged to Mrs. Rocket before we married and we used to take it camping and kayaking everywhere.

I rebuilt the transmission and differential and she said the car was perfect, what else could go wrong! Knock knock knock…😂

The 22RE was a great motor.

In the process of replacing the 1955 2" cast iron with 3" PVC. I have a 10' section before I get to the bathrooms which is 4". There is about 20" of crawl space down there. :(

An update on my deck project. Little by little getting some fine tuning in on how I want to use them. I already posted pics of the TV in the first deck in front. Further across the front to the south is the board room where I also hang some of my bikes.

I put up a Tiki torch tonight too. The first of many more to come. When I begin working on Tikis and lights it's a sign things have come along nicely!

My TV is hooked to an OTA antenna. On one of the (many) stations the classic flick "The Final Countdown" was just starting. Kirk "Freaking Spartacus" Douglas! Then the one I like on Saturday nights - H&I will start airing the original Star Treks on weeknights. Tonight the lineup is "Black Sheep Squadron", "Tour of Duty", "Combat", "The Rat Patrol", and "Twelve O'clock High".....
