Adjusted my 4 post list by raising the locks 1.5 inches. My daughter drove our new car under the lift and I'd be surprised if there was 1/4" between the cross post and the shark antenna. Had a near heart attack when I saw it under there. We have a bit more margin now.

At some point while I was practicing on my old Ibanez Artist... I think I dug in with a little to much urgency and broke the pickup trim ring...
Superglue! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1667777209.jpg They now make these single serve...Seems every time I buy superglue... use it once, then when you need it again.. you find the glue is all hardened.. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1667777397.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1667777485.jpg I'll check it in the morning http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1667777613.jpg |
Nice job. Does the “kickstand” impede cutting longer material?

Still waiting on another set of rear fender flares for the 330. In the meantime, I’m making a harness bar, so I don’t have to route the harness straps to the back seat seat belt points.
Once I get the plates welded in, I’ll fit the bar and add a gusset. Hopefully my Welding is up to par. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1667778957.jpg |
In the process of replacing the front wheel bearing/hub assemblies on the SHO. It has been a learning experience for me and my son that's for sure. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6548ee4f45.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f264857e65.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...34a84ba459.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2354c9d91f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5eee8a7c0f.jpg

New flag poles!
One out front on the palm - and a new "telescoping" 30 footer up on my front deck! This is my first telescoping pole and so far I like it better than the old segmented versions, which I went through two of over the past 10 years, so was looking for a change. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668270158.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668270158.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668270158.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668270158.JPG |
Spindles removed to modify mounts for larger 6 piston calipers.
Race cars are so easy to work on it's fun. Easy to drive fast with an engineer doing the spring and shock set up. ;) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668349584.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668351386.jpg |
My new to me planer (eBay purchase) threw a blade clamp screw on my first project. Although all seemed OK on my test run, I should have checked the blades and screw clamp tension before using. The loose screw broke a blade and blade clamp. See the clamp screw impression in the wood in the center of this pic.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668561517.jpg Damage included 1 blade, 1 blade clamp and 6 of 8 blade screws. Fortunately the internal breaker was tripped and the machine shut down. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668562127.jpg Ordered new blades, blade clamp and new screws. Additionally, I noticed that the factory chain on the cutting head adjustment setup had too much play in it. Adjustment crank traveled 1/4 turn before the head would move so I decided to add a change tensioner by adding an additional factory chain sprocket. this totally eliminated the chain slop and there is now zero play in the crank. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668561626.jpg |
It's always nice when the customer gets to participate in the R&D of his or her brand new purchase.
Glad you're safe, I hope a letter to DeWalt thanking them for letting you learn about your new tool is on the agenda for this evening. |
One more pic of the head adjustment chain setup showing how much play there was. What a huge difference the mod made!

I have to think the previous owner did something to the planer, to cause search carnage, from loose screws? Maybe he worked on it, didn’t finish, and sold it?
Glad to see that you are safe. |
Last weekend I installed a harness bar on 330. I’d show pictures, but my welding skills are comical.

Hurricane repairs today - threw up a fence section using my new Ryobi cordless brad nailer and got my bamboo gate put back up. Had to install new hinges and reattach the bottom and right side frames. Did not have to replace those pieces...yah!
Also got the wheels back on this cart with new bolt hardware and potted up some 'Janet Craig' Dracaena cuttings and air-layered Crotons..... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668567122.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668567122.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668567122.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668567122.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668567122.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668567122.JPG |

Had a neighbor ask me if I could fix a chair with a broken leg that she picked up at an estate sale yesterday. The broken part was MIA so I had to create the repair piece on a curved Queen Ann leg that also tapers from top to bottom. I crated a template for the leg to get the curve right, glued up two pieces of 3/4" red oak (although I think the leg may be mahogany) and milled it by hand using a miter saw, jig saw, bench sander and random orbital sander. I used JB Weld and dowels that I think will hold up well. Pleased with how it turned out. Will spray with poly after a couple more coats of mahogany stain.
In addition to being a neighbor, she is the Realtor that sold my FIL's house a year ago for $40K over list. She is an amazing person who is unfortunately battling pancreatic cancer with a level of selfless grace that is truly inspirational. I think she'll be happy with the "no-charge" repair. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668718727.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668718727.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668718727.jpg |
Bought a used M54B30 engine to rebuild. It will be a little while before I get to work on it, but I pulled off a few parts and pieces including the crankshaft pulley today. It’s amazing how tight the crankshaft pulley bolt is. Took a 4 foot cheater bar to loosen it.
In order to keep the crankshaft from turning, I wedged my 40 year old SnapOn breaker bar between the engine stand and the crankshaft pulley bolt. It broke the end of the prybar off.😢 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668911225.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668911225.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1668911225.jpg |
