^. That looks great.
A nice place to work, it looks like, too.
I think you have more invested in wishbones, uprights, spindles and brakes than I have budgeted for my whole E28 refresh!

At my friends shop, the car was built in 87' and raced in IMSA GTO and Trans Am.
We are just refreshing it getting it ready for the Monterey Reunion in August.

Behold SKY BUCKET 2.0!!!!!

Screw the garden tractor mounting. I needed more height. Random SUV did the trick. Powerwashing success.

This gives me an idea for a photoshoot. Me, on top of the SUV in skybucket, donning a safari hat, with my wildlife photography gear, with a camo-decked super zoom lense perched high above taking pictures of the neighbor's treacherous teacup poodle down below (as they go for their daily walk). Vicious beast. David Attenborough will narrate. The poodle bites. The poodle chooses.

Time to put it all together.
Rebuilt Period correct 23 degree 358 with only Dyno time.
New belts, for safety new swedged and pressure tested oil and fuel lines, new clutch and T/O bearing.
All Original parts retained for historic racing, like the air box, valve covers, headers, rebuilt steering box, rebuilt brake calipers, original suspension, bbs basket weave wheels, no changes made to modernize or improve performance.
Next race in 2 months at the Monterey Reunion.

Completing a deck/ stair rebuild to match a TREX deck rebuild on the side if the house. Old 4' x 4' platform expanded to 6' x 6'. Project timing not good at it has been in the high 90's here in Atlanta. Fortunately the back patio is shaded most of the day.

Old:

New:

Old stair stringers rested on pavers that had settled and were out of level and bottom post was wobbly. Replaced one rotted stringer, poured a level concrete base for and boxed in the bottom tread to stiffen the post.

To match this:

^^ Very nice, Mark! This heat and humidity really takes it out of you! I feel like I'm running about 50% efficiency right now with my outdoor projects.....maybe even less!

Boxing the stringers looks like a great solution I never would have thought of! I have the same issue and this looks like a winner!

Thanks! Got the idea from a Fine Homebuilding YouTube Video and I can attest that the post is now super solid.

Replaced my irrigation timer. The old one was still working - but not as well as it should be. I really like these new ESP-TM2's though.......

Good to know. My RB timer is 25 years old on its second transformer.
We use one of these to run 2 zones on one wire if you every have that problem.

Thanks, Ted.

I've seen those before but never had to use one.

Definitely when the time comes, check out these Rainbird ESP-TM2 clocks. They have a weatherproof cabinet so can be used indoor or outdoor. Comes with a built in power cord but also easy to hard wire if desired. Not expensive either!

Baz will hopefully like this. My wife usually does the garden work but since she's out in the desert on baby watch the job fell into my lap. we have a flower bed that is wild flower dedicated. Time to take out the old and let the new grow in.

I do enjoy getting my hands dirty with my own dirt sometimes.

Looking good Scott.
Just got over Covid now ready to start scratching at the earth too.
Our (drought tolerant) Plumerias are starting to bloom.
Several bare naked ladies blooming too.

Your gardens are looking fantastic Scott and Ted!

I used to think the Hibiscus flower was the most photogenic but you know one could easily make the same statement about the Plumeria flower!

A girl I dated here for a while went into business for herself and has the Plumeria flower as part of her logo.

Thank you Baz, walking into the backyard is easier than a trip to Hawaii.
