Anyone else have a "competition" wake boat?

I have a 2017 Sanger DX2 Raptor and of all the things it has it doesn't have a single docking cleate anywhere on the stupid thing. 150k and I can't tie it to the dock unless I use the wake tower. Do people just drill cleats in? If I go to Mastercraft and ask this question I'll leave with a lighter wallet.

I have a Calibria Pro V. It came from the factory with flush mounted pop up dock cleats.

Work perfect and wont snag anything or body when not in use.

Don't know if your boat will allow the installation of these but they are nice

Seriously? WTF good is that? I’ve never seen anything bigger than a row boat without cleats.

Don't have a competition wake boat, but bought a 2006 Enzo SV230 last year. Can't imagine not having cleats. Tempted by the new boats but happy with this one I picked up last winter as our first boat. We keep it out at Powell. I see you are in my neck of the woods.

I would think drilling in cleats would be a simple solution. Post it on Centurioncrew and I would think someone would be able to answer this question.

I'd imagine there are eyelets for bow/stern lines somewhere. You can use those with QD bow/stern lines (carabiners on one end) to tie off to the deck cleats.

At that price though, you'd think it would have a couple port/starboard cleats and even inset eyelets per side for bumpers at least.
I think many have inboard points so you can just flip the bumpers in/out without attaching/detaching each time (no rope-over when stowed).

I'd be a bit hesitant to add cleats, as that would mean drilling holes in your boat. Not a huge deal I guess.
If you do, maybe go with some quality flush-mount (pop-up) ones.

Noooooo, don't put cleats on your boat!
I have had older comp boats in the past and I just ran a line from the tower and one from the pop-up ski tow. If you don't have a tow pop-up just use the bow eye and a stern eye.

Also curious. Without cleats that means you will never dock it anywhere. Can’t even take it to dinner, which doesn’t seem very practical.

We have a 2012 Sport Nautique 200V. Pop-up cleats in the front and back. They stay tucked down when you’re skiing, pop them up when you need to tie off (rare as the boat is on a lift on our dock). They’re great.

If you install cleats, use backing plates if possible, not just washers, even if you have to fab something up. Measure 3x, drill/cut once.

I would imagine that a competition ski boat would have nothing that sticks up, and could be caught by a passing ski rope when doing 360*s or other side work. I don't know why they wouldn'y have hide-a-way cleats though, makes docking much easier.

Not sure why - but Ski Nautique doesn't install cleats anywhere... Always wondered why.

Same on the old Century. Just the ski pole and bow/stern lift rings.

I can't imagine not having pop up cleats on our boat. If you purchased it from a dealer, just bring it back and say put them on (for free). I'm guessing he will do it without whining too much...
