The only record of wins that counts is the Stanley Cup finals series . All the sports experts will go over every bit of stat details over and over and over again . It doesn't mean squat . Now is the time to put it together series by series . No BS about fatigue or injuries or anything else , come together and play your best hockey . Looking forward to it .

Although my sentimental choice for the West is Calgary, I do worry about their goaltending.
Mike Smith's play as of late, has been inconsistent. Rittich while showing flashes, is a relatively unknown 'quantity'. In the final analysis, the 'yaneverknow' factor will no doubt loom large. I just hope Smith regains his old form - besides, he is fun to watch. Da Broons vs. the Bolts - should that ever eventuate, would be a helluva series if the Broons can stay healthy. I know it goes without saying, this is a truism for all teams in the playoffs but a healthy Boston sure can "play a bit" & we all know about the Bolts. My dark-horse team for the East is Pittsburgh (health again being an issue) & the Jets for the West. Cheers JB

Consider Montreal out and Columbus in. (If they can win tonight).
Good on Columbus for rolling the dice at the trade deadline. They may pay a very high price keeping two valuable UFA's that probably aren't coming back.

Anyone interested in a participating in a Hockey Pool?
I've set one up for my office and it would be easy to add another. Everything is done on-line and it's free. Word of warning: it's a little "old school"... a Gordie Howe hat trick gets you 9 (of course) points, for example. Let me know... and if we have a sufficient number I'll set it up... picks have to be submitted by the 10th, 5:00pm CST. Go Jets

Well here it is for all the world to mock and scorn.
It pains me to chose the Bolts over the Bruins but the B's haven't got the defense tight enough. If they beat Tampa then they may go all the way. The Pens/Isles and the Jets/Blues were the toughest to call in the first round.  anyone else brave enough to post a shot of their bracket? go to: https://bracketchallenge.nhl.com/ If you can't do that, lets hear how many games and why for each matchup in the first round. Show us how smart (or biased) you are.
