It's the same with all driver aids introduced.

They develop em because less talented drivers make mistakes
Then somebody decides to make em mandatory...
Nett result those aids reduce the skill level of already poor drivers even more.

ABS
then drive in the wet with wider tires thinking the car's ABS can save em in every situation

Traction control
Get stuck in 2cm of snow because they don't turn it off

Intelligent lane assist
so they can check facebook while driving

Intelligent speed assist and adaptive cruise control
So they don't have to bother with adjusting speed in busy traffic

Emergency brake assist
So they can tail gate more

Pedestrian Auto Emergency Braking
pay less attention in urban areas

Cars with DRL lights, set to auto
Drive without rear lights in dusk/fog/snow/low hanging sun

Idiots playing games relying on autopilot is pretty much the end stage of all that.
Anybody caught doing that should have his drivers license revoked for the rest of his life. : Get a f'ing cab cause you ain't a driver.

Any brand should be able to use a Tesla charger. Tesla should be allowed to charge a reasonable surcharge for non Tesla vehicles.

Also, tax credits should have been capped. A person that can afford an $80,000 vehicle doesn't need a tax credit. A 50k cap would have been acceptable to me.
You make valid points.

Mr. v. Damme, you have to quit it with these reasonable observations....you are just making too much sense.

I could only add to your list in that I see some twit driving a 400 bhp high performance vehicle weaving in and out of traffic, I am sure wondering why there are little twitches here and there as the safety systems correct his idiotic driving skills. My 911 won't have 300 bhp, I have spent most of my life in a high performance car and I STILL think that I am barely up to standard to drive my car at any sort of high performance level.

Personally I think there needs to be a higher class of licence required for buying one of the new very high performance machines....they are truly beyond the skills of an average driver.....as the many YouTube video's on "exotic car crashes" bears witness...

I always considered myself a 200bhp man... That was what I felt I could use to the fullest., that was when I had my 944 S...
spent close to 10 years in teh dumps , Porsche less. but had Bmw 1 series with RWD and lot's of torque to keep up the skills. DSC is preferably off..

Nevertheless when I got my Cayman, at 211 bhp (neutered for taxes) I wasn't really fully there in the beginning... It took a while to build back up.. Then undid the tax neutering with a chip tune.. And drove it for 2 years.. including some track days, Ring, Spa, Le Mans.. Rain or Shine.. PSM off.. I was hauling ass on the track..
I think I'm good for 300 BHP now..

And by Good I mean using them to the fullest. Not having to back off because it looks wet outside.. On the contrary, I love driving in the rain.. It helps with my HP Handicap..

First ever lap around the Ring, in the wet , at the infamous Adenauer Forst AKA YouSpinTube spot

I see where Tesla has pizzed off their Chinese customers.

Due to supply chain problems with a Tesla 3 computer they installed an older version that didn't match specs in the sales literature.

Tesla is only being allowed to operate in China long enough that they can be cloned. Once that's done, they will be disallowed from doing business.
