Are they worth it?

Aren't they lost easily?

sorta.

yes.

my son has them. used 'em a lot until he got a nice set of monoprice wireless noise cancelling around the ear jobbers.

the 'where's my iphone' function works with them if they're charged.

They don't fall out, surprisingly. For everyday walking around and doing stuff, they stay put. They can be knocked out, like if you take off a shirt over your head, I don't think I'd wear them for gymnastics :-) but people wear them running and I've worn them cycling. Of course, ears vary.

Are they worth it? Well, I'd say they are very handy. Not having the cord swinging around, and being able to use just one AirPods, is nice. I use them mostly for phone calls, and often pair them to my MacBook so I can walk around during long web meetings. They work well for hands free calls while driving. I sometimes listen to music or podcasts on my phone and they work fine. Sound quality doesn't compete with nice over the ear headphones.

Honestly, they look stupid. Not that my Samsung Ear Buds look any better. At least with a cord people know you're listening to music.

Apple had to make a bluetooth version since they eliminated the headphone jack.

I guess I'd say it depends on why you need them.

Too look cool? You don't
To listen music? Everyone says the corded headphones sound better. Get the Apple adapter.

The only thing they have going for them is they CAN connect to any phone. That is not a normal Apple feature.

I am no apple fanboy, but I have to say, they are great and worth the money. Note that any decent set of bluetooth headphones with mic. cost north of 100.

They recharge in the case. The case is small and rounded so it fits your pocket nicely. They stay in my ears in any situation, including running on a treadmill and sweating. Battery life is good, microphone works excellent. I don't give a rats behind what it looks like, I have long ago stopped worrying about style.

Edit: One thing to do before you buy is try them on. There apparently are some ears that don't retain them well.

My AirPods have two different operating modes I guess you would say. When I use them on conference calls I get about two 60 min conference calls before they start beeping. However listening to music they last closer to 3.5 hours. But they change fast. But hold out a few weeks Apple is releasing two new versions.
