Ride in a Top Fuel car, if there was a way you could do so?

Not on a bet. Head jammed up into the roll hoop, arms flapping around. As said above, "what could go wrong?" Even at 1000 feet thing go really wrong, really fast.

That looks like an 1/8 mile track, so it is all over in 650 ft and 3 seconds.

10 15 years ago in my 30s, I would have said hell yeah also. Now, with kids and all the BS, I would have to really think harder about the answer. Part of me would love to do it, but what could go wrong in less then10 sec?
A friend owns a team and they are testing the buggy all the time out in the desert. Baja is on their race schedule again this year. He often offer rides to me during testing. I said no thanks when I finally found out his driver goes over these 8-10 feet jumps doing 100mph+ landing on two wheels first instead of all 4. I like my hip bone to stay put. I am told to relax when the thing lands so the impact isn't as hard if you tense up. Fook that man. |

What?!?!
|
Ok, that guy did it wrong. 🤨
Gear up, buckle in, and keep your hands in your lap. He was waving them around like he was on a parade float. ( yes, I understand forces, but this jack leg raised his hands at the start ) I know he was excited, but c’mon man. Respect the energy you’re about to experience, rook. And to your point, we CAN ask him. Which means he lived. He’s done stoopider stuff behind the wheel throughout his career...and lived. Riding in this racecar would a lot of fun. |

Would absolutely do. Would be much more exhilarating than the Indycar two-seater.

NHRH has banned him from any NHRA track. He has sued them.
I am a big fan of the sport and would do it in a heartbeat. |

given the frequency of rebuilds and such I wonder how much you'd have to charge to make that worth while?

I really think I would.
One of my friends was at a local car show we had 30 years ago. One gentleman started asking a lot of excellent questions about the guys track prepped 911 Turbo. He invited the guy to go for a ride the next weekend at a track test and tune day. The guy loved it. Then he turned the tables, and invited him to come to the man's "office" which was an aircraft carrier. He said the landing was intense, strapped in facing backwards. He spent the night as a VIP guest on the carrier, and the next day flew off the deck. We were all green with envy. In the end, it proved the Air Force and the Navy officers can be buddies.
