I would never treat my own dog that way, and sure as hell won't stand by and watch someone else do it .

I would buy Zeek a beer and give you a treat anytime Fred!

And Moka sez hey ;)

Glad you held back, issues with neighbours are the worst, think he’ll remember in the am?

porsche4life 05-28-2019 07:51 PM

I applaud your restraint....

But man you sure find yourself in some interesting situations...

Steve Carlton 05-28-2019 08:03 PM

Good on you!

Do you know this neighbor well? How did he react to the drunk whispering?

Evans, Marv 05-28-2019 08:05 PM

Congrats for showing restraint. If it were me, I'd talk to him when he's sober and tell him he's a drunk and you don't want to have anything to do with him anymore. Tell him if his house is on fire you'll try to help. Otherwise you don't have a reason to interact with him. I did that with the neighbor across the way, down the road. He tries to be friendly but it doesn't get him anywhere.

Wow, your dog is really tolerant. I'm sure my dog would have bitten the guy.

wildthing 05-28-2019 09:03 PM

Don’t watch John Wick.

All fair in love and war. And the other guy can go and f' himself.

That Choccy has a very kindly face and that SO MUCH reflects on you as a person and how well you have treated that dog (family member).

This would be my concern, if he grabbed the younger dog, the older one would definitely bite him some.

wdfifteen 05-29-2019 01:38 AM

Gotta protect your family. Good for you!

Boundaries....some people just have to be taught imo.

Had my first encounter with my neighbors two houses down a few weeks ago....I told them to call the cops when they got even more stooopid....they did :). Message not received....a week later....me and this fellow had a chat at their front door.....1 am.

Problem solved....

First time I ever had him on a leash....but I had NO fear....I've got Moka's back, his too....and vice versa....

Peace :)http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1559123179.jpg

Good on you for stepping in and knocking the jerk back. He might gotten away with that on a chocolate lab, but my 70# Aussie, would have most likely torn him a new azzhole.

KFC911 05-29-2019 02:56 AM

My choco is becoming two-toned over the past few daze....not even 4 months...I'll try to get a pic....

Don't show Zeek her pic though....she's already developed a man-crush....and it ain't me!

Tail goes into turbo-wag when her buddy appears...along with his sidekick, a 5 mo golden poopie....she's a keeper too!

Dawgs :)....

Just curious what kind of reaction did the drunk meister give ? Did he apologize ? Or say anything ? Good for you to stand up for your pup .

recycled sixtie 05-29-2019 03:46 AM

As with many drunks they don't remember what they did the day before. He needs to be reminded the next day of what he has done before he starts drinking. Well done Fred with showing restraint. If you had punched him out he probably would not have remembered that either. I hate drunks....:confused:

KFC911 05-29-2019 04:14 AM

Nuthin' wrong with drunks....Otis my man :)

Gimme them all day long before Fred's neighbor....alcohol isn't the issue here.

Now back in my "drunk daze"...(haven't thrown a punch in 4 decades...peace bro ;))....I'd have decked him or anyone who treated MY dog in that fashion...sober...and mebbe even their dawg :).

Don't push "that button".... just don't...I just see red :(.

The drunken master did let out a sarcastic " jeez, sorry " That just made me madder. I stormed off with my doggie after that .

Don't touch my dog, my car, my truck or my wife. The order of this list can change as I so desire.

javadog 05-29-2019 05:24 AM

I would’ve knocked the guy on his ass. Absolutely no excuse for that, you should probably pay him a visit today and tell him he’s persona non grata in your world.
