Good job, Fred. How'd this bozo come to be holding your dog's leash in the first place? Did he just yank it out of your hand?

Great looking pooch, BTW...

vash 05-29-2019 01:57 PM

happy it didnt escalate. it would take major problems for me to lay hands on someone.

i would have gone to great lengths to keep my dog's leash out of his hands.

I'm with everyone 140%.

But still.

you can / could be charged with assault.

ANY contact, even a finger touch thumping their chest.

I once "very politely" asked a women to leave my mothers Estate sale.

she refused saying this is a public event.........

she didn't know I was the son.

I had lightly touched her shoulder and arm, leading her arm out the door, as she was blocking others.

60 minutes later sheriff shows up. Assault charges .

The cop said sorry but I have to get your report. and be sure to write down that NO contact happened.......

I should send the lady a Flaming bag of dog poop on her front porch.

Showing great restraint is an awesome plan A...you guys are right, I know you are....no question....but mistreat a critter...

Plan B - PPOT legal defense fund :)

I'd like to think that if someone is physically abusing one's dog, physical contact (such as what Fred did) is justified.

True. Unless you feel you are in danger. In which case, he has committed a crime. Seriously.

Yes, particularly if he swings first. ;)

I’ve never written to your magazine, and never thought this would happen to me, but I got a knock on my door late last night and was surprised to see my neighbor standing there (she’s a total knockout by the way!). Anyways, I invited her in

Oh wait, wrong thread.

But Fast Fred can deny it. No witnesses, no injuries... The fact that the other guy is a drinker, and drunk at the time, he probably fabricated the whole story...

Well, we kissed and made up tonight. We see each other quite a bit while we are out in the yards working, but it has been raining off and on a lot lately, and I have not seen him since our little episode .
I was out stacking wood , and he came over, and apologized at least 5 times, and thanked me for not decking him .
My wife hates him, and asks why I put up with him, but I always say, it is better to just try and get along .
He said he was schat faced and did not know what he was doing .

Buy him this, just as a reminder:

Says a lot that he made the effort to apologize, Fred.

As humans, all of us screw up once in a while.

Someone once said one of the hardest things in life to do is to own up to one's faults.

I could have heard it here. Wouldn't be surprised.

Hopefully he will learn from this incident...

Hard-Deck 06-04-2019 03:07 PM

Fred, good job protecting your little buddy. I would have likely stabbed the dude.
