Thread Carpal Tunnel Release

After over a year of waking up in the middle of the night with pain and tingling in both arms, my mouse hand going numb while using the computer, having to shake out my hands when driving, and many other symptoms, I've self-diagnosed myself as having carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS).

In doing some web research on CTS I found a group of doctors located fairly close to me here in Wisconsin that have developed an ultra non-invasive carpal tunnel release (CTR) procedure.

I was hoping the vast PPOT braintrust would have some insight on this.

I'm also wondering if an electromyography (EMG) test is really necessary, or just an anachronistic revenue generator.

I've read the previous threads on CTS and see that Noah930 is the resident expert. I am hoping he would chime in on this.

I got a brace and switched hands to left handed mousing. Been doing that for years now.
I avoid any invasion of my body by others if I can help it.

I'm a computer guy and I work on a computer in IT. Years ago, I switched from a mouse to a trackball. I could see my future and the future held CTS. I've also switched to ergonomic keyboards.

Good luck

That your “arm” is numb/painful suggests that you might be expiencing something other than or in addition to carpal tunnel syndrome. After that, arthroscopic/endoscopic release is pretty slick!
