9/11 Pictures....

I'm not sure if this has been posted, but I thought it was worth sharing.

The pictures were found on CD's at a garage sale or similar. The photographer, who is unknown, was not a professional, but they really tell a story of the devastation that occurred.

WOW, thanks for sharing. I had a friend from our local FD go there shortly after 9/11 to help with "clean up". He dealt with mental issues for many years afterward from what he saw.

Still surreal after all these years.

Those should be published in news papers across the U.S.

How quickly we forget the destruction and senseless 3000 + deaths!

Does anyone remember the man they pulled from the rubble alive? Whatever happened to him. He was on the news for a day or so and was gone. I never heard another word.

Very surreal...I wonder how many of the workers in the pics have gotten 9/11 related health issues?

I worked at a photolab when the Murrah building was bombed. We had a lot of firefighters from all over the country coming in and having their film processed and printed. The destruction was just had to fathom, and it was a long way from a skyscraper like the Trade Center.

I’d guess that these pics were taken by one of the contractors. Nearly all contractors have daily reports and need pictures documenting the work activities.

I was on my to OKC (from Cali) the day that happened. Arrived in the afternoon. Devastation was unreal. My sister and BIL helped out with their church for days/weeks afterwards.

On 9/11 I was actually in the air flying (to OKC again) and was diverted to Vegas. Very memorable, will NEVER forget.

More like they tell the story of how one construction company really cleaned-up on the clean-up job. I'm sure there were many others. Always a silver lining...

I wonder how many of these guys w the respirators hanging around their necks later sued for inhaling dangerous fibers?

A friend of mine is a local FF here in Vancouver. His brother was travelling at the time of the attacks and happened to have a planned stop in NYC. My buddy had planned on visiting him there and as soon as air traffic resumed he went. He took his FF credentials and gear with him. He was allowed on site and worked for three days clearing debris. On his 4th day they shut the site down to volunteers and restricted access only to those workers that had been vetted by the state.

Turns out they weren't as concerned about his safety as they were about the security of bank vault deposits somewhere in the bowels of the WTC. Workers found torch marks on vault doors within the first week of the buildings coming down. Crime never sleeps. I read that mob-controlled interests were busy carving up the clean-up contracts hours after the first tower fell.

Another thing he mentioned was how many other first responders on site had respirators but didn't wear them. They were handed out to everyone on site as mandatory gear. My buddy wore his anytime he was on or near the site. He could tell by just walking around that there was a lot of air contamination.

I went through all the pics. One of them was a dumpster that was for airplane parts only.
