Probably the C model, but the E isn't a whole lot different.
Trivia, an F15E Strike Eagle is the only aircraft to score an air to air kill with a laser guided bomb. They were supposed to hit rotorcraft on the ground in Desert Storm. When they got to the target area the rotorcraft were already airborne and the crew said what the heck and dropped on them anyway. To their surprise it tracked the airborne target. |

In all fairness, my only gripe is the power deal. We have owned this lil guy since 2003 and it doesn’t get any more affordable regarding aircraft ownership. Cheap to feed and insure and overall own. It’s light on the controls and a good trainer, simply because you can’t use power to get yourself out of a hole. I offered it up for the boys and the Mrs. to learn in but no nibbles. I would have given my left nut for that opportunity had my dad offered. |

Another thing I prefer is they are all metal. Fabric isn't quite as "durable". |
Repainted the prop. I won’t say it looks like new, but it’s much better than it was and I’m always worried about corrosion down here.

We lost a friend of the family when an improperly repaired prop on his Cherokee 6 lost 8 inches on one blade on an angel flight at night over heavily wooded Minnesota.

Another commute flight shot down
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...774f75a0f6.jpg KMAX firing up, CDF Bronco and Bombers screaming over at pattern altitude. Just not worth the risk. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...955ee017e5.jpg So now a one hour drive vs a 20 minute hop. At least I was reminded why I hate driving the road so much following a slow mover that doesn’t know what turn outs are for...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7e200b64d6.jpg The wife just sent me some updates https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d48d076553.jpg |

That’s the main reason I had the prop overhauled on ours. It all started with me attempting to replace the aged McCauley stickers with repos. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...40ebb68fd3.jpg Pulled the paint right off to the bare aluminum. So I decided to strip the paint and shoot it with some fresh flat black. I found some scratches and other dings I didn’t like. Then add the fact I didn’t have any history other than remove, inspect and re-install. Pulled the trigger on an overhaul and now I even have a prop log. The shop even had some original proper stickers too. I even took it one step further and removed the paint from the spinner and hand sanded and polished. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b6b38d97c4.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
