Very similar colour scheme as my dad's 77 Skyhawk.
Will try to find some photos.
Tried to find it by looking up the call letters. C-GYCG
C-GYCG now resides on a Lockheed Electra (appears non-op) and I have no idea what had happened to dad's 172.

Did some searching and found the serial number 17267631 and found that it had been registered at a flight school in Indonesia that had closed a few years ago.
Call sign PK-NIR.
Is listed as expired registration within the last 3 years.
Hmm. Will keep looking and see what I can find.

Flew around for a bit this morning. We have been getting so much rain that I haven’t gotten to get out as much as I like.

I flew over Sebring, not much going on down there.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1566075205.jpg

Flew around for about a hour and a half. Plane is running good. I flew my normal 150 knots at around 12 gph, and I flew at around 105 knots true a little under 7 gph. I was at 5500 on the way out to Sebring, dropped back down to 4500 for the way back.

Thank you for the VariEze pictures - my dad recently passed (02.19) and he too had built a VariEze which is now on static display. Donated to a local CC where he taught A&P after 30+ years of AF service. 3 war veteran (Flight Engineer B-29 WWII; F-80 pilot Korea and FAC OV-10 Vietnam). He loved to fly and fortunately for me we did spend some quality time in his Eze. Brought back very good memories for me - thank you again.

Hi H,
I am very sorry to hear about your dad[emoji22], that is a very tough thing to have to deal with. That truly terrifies me with my aging parents. M & D with our Grandaughter, their GG-daughter.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...022dc0e604.jpg
My pleasure on the pics, I have many more taken from the rear seat and low level through the mountains. It’s what I get for knowing a retired F-4/F-111/F-16/F-15 driving Full Bird. That is awesome that your dad’s VE is on static display at the CC. By chance, do you have any pics of the VE you could share. I would love to see it.
I’ve been trolling the classified adds looking for either a VE or LE but they have been thin in the published periodicals. My friend bought his from a retired General he knew and worked with that built it. My friends has convinced me of just how enjoyable that are to fly and the speeds obtained and a low GPH burn rate. The downside is the limited cargo area for a travel bag. Guess it’s hard to check all the boxes when your a state employee and what you can afford. lol

I’ve made some progress on the gear legs and was able to wet sand them before work today. I will admit, I just couldn’t help myself and had to do a quick “test spritz”[emoji6]
I took some glory days shots with a couple of his old helmets and sent them to him while he is on his trip.

Test spray to see how it laid down on the surface. Water sheen after wet dry 220.

Looks good. I use to see one flying when I was based in MO. The nose wheel looked a little spindly, but I guess it works.

Chalk-Art tribute on the nose of a U-2 in memory of “Shooter”, Flight 876. It was actually flown on a sortie after the accident. The instructor pilot that was lost a few years ago in a U-2 training accident out of Beale AFB. My brother worked for him.

We were ten miles from the ship inbound when I look over to the Nav screen and there is the biggest spider I have ever seen on the center console: I didn't key my mike when I screamed and I bet the ship guys heard me:cool:

The RTN pilot reaches over and grabs it by the abdomen puts it on the flight deck and steps on it. It looked like someone spilled a cup of jello.

I was reminded of this when I saw this cartoon - aviation related:D

If I'd of had a face curtain, would have been a tough call!

Were running the serial number vs the old N#? We had another member post a pic of an old homebuilt bipe and when I did some snooping all I got back was no record on file.

Nothin finer than opening up a thread and seeing some sexy tail pics of a distinguished classy lady......”it’s all about the bootie”

Thanks for those..

I can’t seem to get a preview frame in here. It’s a video of an AVRO RJ85 jet water bomber getting VERY close and personal with terra firma during his pull-up after dropping the retardant.

I think it might have been a biohazard in the cockpit until it was sanitized.

Stinky too....
