Hawkeye's-911T 03-08-2020 09:35 AM

I concur. The nose/prop arrangement of the DHC-1 Chipmunk is very reminiscent of this aircraft.
I still can't identify this particular model but would love to take a hop in it.

Cheers

edit: Per YT comments in the above, apparently people were hang-gliding well above that.
Not sure how that is done w/o oxygen and special equipment.

Tell that to the almost 3,000 people that live permanently in Leadville, Colorado; where I have spent several weeks at a time....

10k feet is no big deal.

Lots of uncontrolled airspace below 18,000 feet. Above that, everybody must be on an instrument flight plan and in communication with Air Traffic Control.

Below 18k, unless one is near a major airport, a transponder is not required.
The vast majority of airplanes have transponders so one does not have to skirt around the busy areas.

Blunder into LAX's airspace, and the pilot may end up having a little chat with the FAA.

svandamme 03-10-2020 12:04 AM

will that fit a 72 magnesium T block?

svandamme 03-10-2020 01:45 AM

do they come with matching piston or shall i ring JE pistons up :P
them's big jugs.. so gonna build me a torque monster, make that 911 T stand for Torque instead of Touring.

Dantilla 03-10-2020 06:15 AM

R-4360 has:

5.8" bore
6.0" stroke.

71.5 liters

svandamme 03-10-2020 06:50 AM

so a 429L flat 6
that beats any 488 c.i.d Viper.

I met a guy at Chino who built a Reno racer using a 4360!
