I expect that many people there were glad to see a good guy with a gun bring an end to that threat until police arrived. Do you feel that the retired fireman should not have been armed?

It’s also worth noting that there are many stories of a legally armed citizen preventing a crime, saving another from a crime, or protecting themselves from an attacker. But you won’t see those stories on CNN as it doesn’t play into their anti second amendment agenda.

Some are pretty powerful. A lot of information is fleshed out in games; it can really change your perspective and ideology because of the immersive and interactive presentation. I do object to the assumption that violence in games automatically = a player-base with increased violent crimes and rampage killing. There are also unhealthy games designed to addict the player and tap into their money; yet not offering any real positive experience. Very evil, and probably a fair amount of adults are held back by getting suckered in. These generally have no graphic violence; yet are harmful. It is not a mono angle topic. The important part is how well connected a person is both socially and mentally. This will cause personal rejection of harmful content if a healthy fabric is in place. |

Pac man didn’t effect me. My siblings and I probably fought over it but it’s hard to remember
I find it interesting that a few times a year you see a story about one sibling killing another because one was hogging the Xbox. And these stories of SWATTING, another of which was on the news earlier this week, are highly disturbing and a good indication that the youth of today are INSANE.....God help this planet 30 years from now. As for how modern games effect youngsters these days....well as an almost 50 year old Call of Duty addict....I have no doubt whatsoever that it negatively effects teens who play it and other similar first person shooters. I have no problem admitting that the fun of it is shooting people in the head with the machine gun of my choice. Why the hell else would I play it Last edited by ramonesfreak; 08-15-2019 at 06:59 AM.. |

Other than when it is an Uber driver in Chicago that stops a mass shooting and gets fired for it and they change their CCW policy. Even then it was because Uber fired a "driver of color". Whatever that means.

One of my units under my command teaches this on a daily basis. Unfortunately, our world has changed and we must pre-plan for the monsters of society.
We put together a video that provides some excellent tips. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_7SesGK_5w

If our Aussie friend did 10 seconds of research on firearms used in self defense he might learn a little.

I don't trust the idiots out there that assume they are anonymous and don't like playing online with them. There are some with options to only let Steam friends play, which is nice.

It is getting harder to find games with single player stuff.
Kerbal Space Program has been taking my time lately. It does not make me want to steal a space ship.

At the popular family friendly summer arts/crafts festival going on 30 or 40 years here a few weeks ago located in one of the popular city neighborhoods.... you know where they close down the streets to cars all weekends and there are vendors and house parties going on etc...
A friend went and observed a riot involving hundreds of 20-something YO guys and girls throwing rocks and bottles at the police. Cops dispersed pepper balls which did not deter these kids at all. Everyone totally wasted belligerent and VIOLENT and entitled spoiled brats This is a festival with parents pushing strollers etc...along with senior citizens just trying to enjoy a day outside It used to be trust no one over 30. Now, I trust no one under 40 Last edited by ramonesfreak; 08-16-2019 at 09:05 AM.. |

I am lucky that I live in a pretty rural area. Most of the youth locally are decent kids. Lots of farm kids. Here we have street dances, truck and tractor pulls, dirt track racing, farmers markets.

A few companies here are doing it.. I am very sad that this; and school lockdowns are even a thing in this day and age...
