Mikes is wrapping up his live feed and once again good stuff. Leanred a lot again and know what to look for.
Wondering if we will lose power tomorrow, best I can tell tomorrow is going to be my bad day. I could have had a BBQ today. Once again, my heart breaks for the Bahamas, to have a Cat 5 / 4 parked over you for 48 hours? I cannot imagine. We had a Cat 3 park on us for 36 hours and it destroyed this area. A cat 4 or 5? There will be nothing left just as Captain Ahab has posted. Thank you for posting that. I am seeing from Bahama news that the PM is already lying about the death count. There are reports of flatbed trucks being loaded with bodies in Abaco. Meanwhile the PM says they only have 5 confirmed deaths. This is going to be a really horrible storm history for the Bahamas. I am off to watch a movie with the wife. I must add one thing, we put Impact windows on the entire back of our house. What a huge difference regarding the sound of the storm, you can barely hear it outside now. Which throws you off, we are getting some decent squalls this evening and we can barely hear them. Off to a movie. G'night and be safe!! |

^^^ what could possibly go wrong?

We all need to learn to take initial reports with a large grain of salt.

Will this thing ever leave? I feel like its groundhog day I keep checking the calendar to see if the days are changing. Sounding like a broken record, the pool people of the Bahamas. This is a nightmare. There was a point where the stall was good news for the east coast, I think the next discussion is going to turn to, what if it does not move for XX amount of hours. We have to keep hoping the high to the east of it weakens enough to let it move north. Models still predict it is going to start moving north fast today and will be out of the area in 24 hours. To recap, closed office early Friday after realizing all of my customers were closed. Trying to open back up tomorrow which will be day 6. I am extremely thankful I did not have a cat 3/4/5 parked over me for 3 days. I am very ready to move on with my life. I am also taking this as a wake up call. What is happening in the Bahamas can easily happen here. Time for some changes. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |
Slow moving storms....:(
Best and stay safe! |

Mandatory evacuation update from the PIO of the NSB Police Dept.:
Volusia County officials have clarified the mandatory evacuation order. The order, which was effective at 10 a.m. today, applies to: · Residents who live on the beachside · Residents who live in low-lying areas, RVs and mobile homes east of I-95. Persons who live in areas not included in the mandatory evacuation order should pay close attention to the weather forecasts and evacuate voluntarily if needed. The emergency curfew for cities and unincorporated areas east of the Halifax River has been extended. The new hours are from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday, and from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday. The restriction does not apply to authorized public safety personnel. ======== What they don't tell you is evacuation is NOT mandatory. I'll never understand why they call it "mandatory" - if it isn't mandatory. |

If any of you FloRida guys have FP&L as your power company this is a great interactive map that shows you all the open power outage tickets. Not sure if it works on a phone it works great on a PC.

It also my have something to do with EMS response. If you are in a mandatory evacuation zone you may not get real fast service - just a guess on that one. |
