Porsche also made fun of the word Autopilot as used by Tesla. They all play word games. Maybe the Tucan uses ram air to power a centrifugal turbine for the HVAC fan.

Taycan, Macan, Cajun, Cayenne. Porsche lineup is sounding like a South American zoo.
But I'm ok with the Turbo on an all electric car because nothing means anything anymore in marketing.

So, maybe they're planning on running the turbine powered charger off the overheating batteries and use the resulting hot air to power the defroster or something? Hmmm

Or maybe they’ll be equipped with the E-ram!
I think turbo is fine on a vacuum cleaner or computer, that’s obviously silly marketing.
But calling a non turbo car a turbo is just weird.
Esp. for a company like Porsche. I could see GM or some bizarro Chinese car maker doing that. But it’s not a very Germanic thing to do.

The Germanicness started leaving the station long ago for many German marques.

They're also generating "engine noise" at low speeds for safety. That Jetsons sound?

That seems very unlikely to me.

I think they should bring back some old acronyms. SC would be perfect, as in Super Capacitor, then add one that can work like a push to pass type of deal that would be charged first with the regenerative brakes.

Maybe have it add 50 more HP to the car with the push of a button and lasts for 5-10 seconds.

One of the factory speakers at Porsche Parade mentioned that story in the speech one evening. When the vehicle was first announced they called it the Cajun before it was released. One year later as they were close to production cars they talked about the new name, and why the change.

I has been several years, maybe it was some other market and not the Germans that pronounced it wrong. But it was because of the J getting pronounced wrong.

I grew up saying Panamericana or Panamerica because I was reading about the race down in Mexico in Road & Track and Car and Driver.
Panamera to me is truncated and difficult to pronounce.
Macan is a noise a bird makes and
Taycan sounds like some hillbilly idiom.

Well, in case it is true, there won't be a German model named Geronimo.

In my opinion, all these names look very nice in the Porsche font as a model name.

The weak name that looks odd to me compared to the others is Boxster.

The new ones flow better visually.

I think Panamera is a great name for a Porsche model. The truncated version fits in well with Carrera.
