Watched the first half hour...like you said, interesting.
|
Can't debunk it..
Kind of makes all the problems this world has seem kind of puny. What ever it is has the power to turn off our power grid instanously. Literally be able to throw mankind back into the dark ages. Thinking about UFOs and little Grey's has a kind of over there some where else surreal quality that seems unreal. That is until you come face to face with it being real. Then it becomes a reality that is full of unknown qualities which can cause a lot of fear and anxiety |
Neat stuff. I'll have to listen to the Bob Lazar session too.
|
Finally went back to watch the entire thing. I will say that I believe Cmdr. Fravor to be an entirely credible witness.
|
Lot's of discussion of the incident in question, as well as several other highly curious observations covered in the recent series, "Contact" on the Discovery channel. Should still be available on your provider of choice.
I find it a near certainty that we are not alone, but the physics of time and distance make me question why anything out there would expend the effort to visit a single blue dot in the corner of a very ordinary galaxy. |

That tic tac can scoot.

From Wiki: Lazar took electronics courses in the late 1970s at Pierce Junior College in Los Angeles. He also claims he earned a master's degree in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a master's degree in electronic technology from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech); however, there are no records of Lazar attending either MIT or Caltech. Furthermore, Lazar was not a member of any professional body. Lazar claims that his academic records were erased by authorities in an effort to discredit him. |
The ones I saw when I was flying for the Navy were different in terms of shape, but their performance was the same.
This was in 1987 before FLIR and other sensors. My crew and I told no one. |
I can't debunk it, but I can't bunk it either. But there seem to be a lot of guys like Seahawk out there that I would totally trust as credible witnesses.
If they are watching us, I would have to assume they are looking for evidence of intelligent life. |
I watched the whole thing over several hours. Very interesting. I've always been open minded, but so many of the folks that report things come off as not being terribly credible. This guy came off as very credible.

The DOD admits that they have contact with UAP's. They have been the bastion of denial since 48. So if they are not credible then WHO IS credible?
This then leads one to believe that some of the other phenomena are true as well. For instance the Red Lights in the forest at the USAF base in the UK in the 80's, and the shut down of SAC ICBM missile silo in ND when a UAP hovered overhead in the late 60's. Presidents Ford, Carter and Reagan all saw UFO's. Reagan even made a statement at a news conference, "That how puny would our problems be if we were being invaded from (Pointing upwards). Then there is the "Interrupted Journey" chronicling the Betty and Barney Hill lost time abduction case in 1962. Before that nobody was claiming alien abduction. Or the AZ Logger who was abducted for a week in the late 80's. The truth is out there.. |
In case anyone was curious about the Bob Lazar talk (I haven't watched any of this one, and have no idea how it comes across)

I've also seen the Bob Lazar one... Again very compelling.

We all felt that trying to explain the fairly long experience sans evidence would have been deleterious to our keeping our flight quals  |

What if you had a crashed alien craft hidden in a barn?
What would the US government pay to take it off your hands? |

Considering how rare life seems to be throughout our Galaxy maybe that's why they're here.
I believe the Commander but that doesn't necessarily mean they're aliens. It could be another phenomenon we don't know about. Time shift/travel from our own future? How long has SETI been searching? (founded in 1984) And so far nothing... That tells us something important. Life on Earth is special and very rare. |

In 1935, a simplified explanation of the challenges of supersonic flight led to the creation of the term "sound barrier," which seemed to imply a physical wall that could not be overcome. "Experts" have been the limiting factor on scientific advancement since Claudius Ptolemy. But I digress. The thing I liked most about the the CDR is that he said what 99% of the folks I have talked to with similar experiences: "I saw what I saw." That's it. I have no way, nor am I capable of, forming a rational explanation of what I saw. |

Provided the speed of light being the universal speed limit is factual, this means we have only announced our presence to a distance of 100 light years. It will take another 29,900 light years for our initial hello just to reach the center of the Milky Way. They would have to be an extremely close neighbor (as measured in space distances) to even know we are here. |

Considering the long timeline of sightings, whoever or whatever is piloting these craft probably has no harmful intentions. With technology this advanced there is probably the technology to destroy.
Fighter pilots are different though. Fravor mentioning "creating" UFO's on training missions....my former F-111 pilot has told of similar antics. Young pranksters they are... |

The Foo Fighters are named after WW2 objects which followed bomber aircraft, as reported.
There are folklore stories of "ball lightning" which came down chimneys, around a room, and back up again. There are things well beyond our basic comprehension at this time, and might continue to be so into the distant future. Electricity is still new to humans.... I've personally seen a falling 'meteor' streak across the sky and make a right hand turn back in the 1980's. And again a fast moving 'satellite' which bounced around randomly (while the other stars stood still) in the 2000's. No substances involved in both events. |

The good Commander was ridiculously credible, especially not being upset that he was vectored to a target that was unknown and crazy. Half a mile is really close in an airplane. LOL. |

I love this sort of stuff... Great example of how science works. Got unexplained phenomenon, how do we proceed?
Similar to flat earth and fake lunar landings... We can shoot for the sky and turn everything upside down, giant govt conspiracies 'n secret labs. Theres lots of valid hypothesis. Until theres more facts in this case you get to pick from a myriad of explanations. I figure all thinking people are hoping this is aliens or some new physics, who wouldnt want new coolness to expand human knowledge? My gut says its something minor but my fingers are crossed. Whats tragic though is when people start acting like the crazy theories are real. Ive spent time with lunar landing deniers and man their world models are a disjointed mess. |
Jody only wanted $17m (in 1970).
