We've got an orange Miura near us locally. Usually makes it out to a few Cars and Cappuccino events each year. Owned by a super nice guy who restored it over a decade. It's in my top 5 most beautiful cars. The others being an early EType, two Maseratis - Tipo Stradale and MC 12 - and a Ferrari 250 GTO.

Edit: the successor to the GT40 is up there too for me. The short-lived P68.

Harry is a great enthusiast but some of his earlier videos are almost unwatchable because of the sound quality. He's currently doing a series on the rebuilding of one of his Lambo engines. Well worth watching!

My dream list if I ever won a big lottery...

1. Countach
2. Miura
3. The original 930 turbo.
4. An early front engine Ferrari (but not a stupid money version).

The ultimate? A RHD Ferrari F40.

Around 3 were made so not likely even if I had the money to burn.

Fun Fact: Lamborghini factory doesn't have a paint booth, finished car-body's travel, by train, to a facility to be painted then shipped back to be built-up. Always wanted to drive one , any one of em.

I recently drove a Countach that belonged to a friend & neighbour. He also owns an almost perfect early 90s Testarossa which he wont even let me sit in.
The Lambo is dusty and in need of some cosmetic work.

It's basically a V12 powered go cart with a comfortable seat in the best possible way imaginable. (not a lot of room inside)
The gear shift is horrendous compared to anything modern but got better as it warmed up. Still usable but nowhere near a modern Japanese car.
The clutch seemed fine to me but I often drive my 915 equipped 78 SC. It's heavier than my SC but not by much.
The steering was heavy at low speeds but absolutely fine once you got moving.
The brakes? I don't know because I just drove it gently and they worked fine but how they'd perform at speed, who knows?

Overall considering it's age it was a great car to drive but I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time in the seat everyday.
There are much better modern options for daily driving. This is a weekend car only IMO.

That saying... You shouldn't drive your dream car. I disagree with that 100%.

If you have the opportunity take one for a drive. They leave a lasting impression.

A Countach would be an unlikely addition for me even if money was no impediment. I'd want to drive whatever was in my garage, at least a little bit. The pedal box is tiny and askew and the interior is too for cramped for someone over 5'10"and 200 lbs. A 911 feels big inside in comparison. Plus the whole "raising the door to back up the car in tight quarters" thing would annoy me every time it left the garage. It's still iconic and fun to look at though.

There is a really cool documentary on Amazon called "Driving Dreams" (I think) that interviews several of the great Italian designers. Ghandini being one of them. He looks to be about 5' 6" and a buck forty five.

The brakes on the early cars are fine, and they’re very progressive and have a good feel. The brakes on the later cars are more powerful but lack feel, especially when cold.

Ironically, on the early cars brake pads are difficult to come by and I don’t know of any source for the rotors.

That photo suggests that you drove one of the early cars. What year was it?

That video was a parody. In case you don’t know who the people were, the Lambo driver was Valentino Balboni, who took over the test driving duties of Lamborghini after Bob Wallace left and was the test driver there for about 40 years. The Ferrari driver was Arturo Merzario, one of their ex-F1 race pilots.

Watch it again, it’s a parity of two old Italian guys insulting each other in the way only Italians can.

My Lamborghini mechanic was named Brian. He did just fine.

Agreed, it's obviously not meant to be a documentary. I'm sure I missed most of the inside/Italian specific jokes, but it was entertaining.

Our son and daughter are both big fans of Lamborghini, though neither one likes the Diablo much. He wants his in red and she likes hers in purple. Me? I would take yellow or purple. Even the Diablo. I guess the LM-002 could be black.
