There may well be many valid reasons to be a vegetarian, or even a vegan. That is not what this thread is about. It is like going to a donut shop and demanding a gluten free sugar free donut.

This moron when to Burger King, and expected a vegan meal.

The judge needs to charge the attorney that represents him with all court costs of Burger King. And then fine the idiot with contempt of common sense, and sentence him to 50 hours of working at a food line serving food to poor and homeless people.

Everything is cooked in butter, cream, etc. She does offer gluten free dough on some things but not pasta as her husband the chef makes it all scratch. FYI, it is possible to make tasty gluten free pasta. I did it about 23 years ago with a recipe from a book. It was surprisingly good.

I got no problem with what people choose to put in their gut.

As noted by others, sometimes this is for medical preferences or medical necessity.

I also got no problem with restaurants catering a menu to their clientele.

My opinion is that a true vegan is hard to find. It's a tough row. The list of things vegans have to eliminate is way comprehensive.

I've been a jack vegetarian since 1985. I guess I'm in the category of ovo vegetarian and even that is not easy if I were really dedicated. But I avoid meat. I think Patrick's son is a good example of why dietary exploration is important. There was a recent study (maybe cited here, IDR) that showed why a certain tribe of Aborigines were in extreme declining health. They were derived of their ancestorial diet of primarily "catches" of land and sea. Instead, they were eating mostly processed foods, were obese and in general, not doing well at all. I tend to think that our heredity has a lot to do with what our food intake should be. IOW, one diet doesn't fit all. This is the problem with our society today. You think you have a lot of options but when you get home with the grocery bags it's more or less the same as last week and full of processed and convenient food. Just a very short example and thought: we don't churn our own butter. What's in store butter? That list goes forever.

The hardcore vegan I know won't even step on them. Living creature augment.

Burger King is defending itself against a class-action lawsuit over its Impossible Whopper, arguing that it never advertised the popular meatless item as vegan or promised to cook them any particular way.

The burger chain is currently in a legal battle against a vegan customer who sued the company in November for cooking the plant-based patties on the same grills as meat burgers.

In a court filing on Thursday, Burger King said the lawsuit should be thrown out because plaintiff Phillip Williams should have asked how Impossible Whoopers were cooked before ordering, Reuters reports.

Williams said his Impossible Whopper was “coated in meat by-products” after purchasing the burger at an Atlanta drive-thru. He and vegans all over the country became outraged at Burger King’s cooking practices.

Williams "assumed that an Impossible Whopper would satisfy his own particularly strict form of veganism ... solely because he asked a Burger King restaurant employee to 'hold the mayo,'" Burger King said. "This claim has no basis."

What’s more, the company said Williams would have known how the Impossible Whopper was prepared had he done the “smallest amount of investigation” on its website or by reading media reports.
