Exactly!
Right up there with, I will NOT tolerate people's intolerance! You have to wonder, are they trying to be funny, or are they so mired in the swampy sandbox of selective outrage that they simply don't see it.

I asked about Porsche 911 values going forward, in an era of rapidly increasing alternate energy technologies. Some posters thought it would be fun to criticize others' perspectives. Some say I was wrong to raise the question. Then, in a fit of nasty, vicious, explosive vitriol, I called them "poopyheads." Moderator was probably right to delete the thread. Moderator may have a zero tolerance policy in PPOT. I'm totally okay with that. Without it, PPOT becomes like PARF. Perhaps Pelican hopes to preserve and protect mature discourse everywhere except PARF. If so, this will disappoint a few people, while also creating space which adults want for discussing things which are important. I think this is the right call, frankly.

Maybe stay out of PARF if you feel the need to call someone names once they’ve stated their persuasive argument. See also: stop drinking and posting...

Your posts are like little rudders that steer what comes from others as they will be made in response. If you don't like the responses to your own posts part of that is on you. The one person we have control over is ourselves. Learning to exercise that control to bring desired results takes a recognition of what went wrong with your own actions in past failures. I've always assumed that when Superman claims innocence or ignorance after kicking off a forum shiit storm, that he's taking the piss (as that big ol' spanner, Peter E. would say
) . . . what else could it be?

Astonishing that a discussion about closing a thread can go on for 53 posts.
If you don't like the way the site is run, upgrade your subscription fee to the professional level, and spend the hundreds per month to run your own site. I have zero issues with the moderators decisions. When in doubt, close the thread. No one has the time to read every post on every thread. The rules are easy to understand. We are all like 10 year olds and like to push the boundaries on occasion. If ye get yer butt whipped, learn a lesson and move on. Some folks never learn.

^ mostly talking about the OP... No complaints about mod action. Altho' if it were me I would have clicked "Move thread" (to PARF) just to bring less attention to the wreckage on the side of the Yellow Brick OT.
Thing is, with a wreck on the side of the road people just have to point and talk until the wreck gets towed to the shop. Some then can follow it to the shop to be all NTSB on the wreck.
