If that's "car culture", die already.

When the kids watching F&F grow up, this is what car meets turn into.

We have a C&C even here, thousands of cars show up, try any of those stunts there and you will be tossed out and banned from ever attending again.

That was interesting, I'll have to look up the other parts later.
I live in an area LOADED with tracks of many many kinds.

The short tracks with only left turns be they paved or dirt really bring the people out.
The "old farts" saying car culture is dead obviously don't go out to these little places.
Then again, they might not see what is really going on even if they did.
People are funny like that.

An older timer than me tells stories of drag racing on the street in downtown Dayton in front of the Top 40 radio station’s studios. They kept a play by play of the racing in between Chuck Berry and Buddy Hollie songs. It eventually got organized into the NHRA. Hopefully these clowns will also find a way to take it off the streets.

"Car Culture" as they knew it in the 50s/60s is dead. Not too many people still cruise the circuit around drive in hamberger joints. It has eveolded into a different animal that serves the need of younger car guys who don't have BBCs.

It's all fun and games until the douches on the motorcycles start trying to box folks in RangeRovers in, get run over, chase the guy down, break the window out of his SUV, pull him out and beat him to within an inch of his life. But that would never happen.

Oh wait!

Exactly! Pretty sure car culture of the 1950s and 1960s was centered around drag racing up the local Main Street.

Those who say car culture is dead actually mean that their flavor of car culture is dead. There are still just as many kids that love cars, but the cars and culture are different.

No doubt the car culture is way different now. Burnouts and drifting are all the rage. I guess I should buy stock in tire companies. As a self confessed codger, smokey burnouts have always been stupid. Laying rubber is OK, but to just create clouds of rubber, is stupid. As drifting may take some skill, but it is a stupid skill to see how much rubber you can chew up while going slowly around a track.

Get off my Lawn!

We do have several younger members in our Porsche club. I met with a group of old guys in an El Camino club. They all started dying off or got dementia. Only one guy was younger than I was, and he had to sell his El Camino because he got married and had a kid. So that group just disbanded. There was a ton of knowledge and skills that just went away. I miss those guys.

I am shocked that they are not sitting in lawn chairs in front of their Pontiac Chieftan listening to doo whop music .
Pretty strong car guy presence still here also . Thankfully not much like those dudes from new yawk.
I am still happy to see people interested in cars. It's all relative

This is what I was thinking while watching the video.
These kids are the modern day version of the car guys of the 60s and 70s.

Car Culture isn't dead.. it merely changes its presentation. "Old" people can't see it, cause it isn't the same culture as theirs.

Not everyone wants T-buckets.. or '57 Chevy's.. or 70's muscle cars.. but then again, to the modern "car fan", we get 100+ years of possible cars to choose from!

OUR car culture has changed. Even the way I enjoy cars has changed. Hell, I used to daily drive my Speedster - in OHIO!

The saddest part was hearing these deluded kids talk about "sponsorship".
Who gets paid to do illegal wheelies and burnouts ?
Like they are training for a sport that does not even exist.
Sad.
